We will use the classic 0-10 scale. Rate your game in the following categories and then average out your score and let us know how bad or good a b-ball player you are. (After you give yourself a score in a category, you may add a little comment if you choose to.)

Handles -
Defense -
Shot -
Playmaking -
Rebounding -

Average it all out for your basketball score

My scores:

Handles - 6
Defense - 7 (I always dig in)
Shot - 1 (I have absolutely zero touch. I can go outside right now and take 100 shots and only two will go in.)
Playmaking - 7 (I can see things clearly, make the right pass always)
Rebounding - 2 (screw that rebounding stuff. Let others jam their fingers)

My basketball score: 4.6

Handles - 6 (used to be 8, but now I'm old and slow)
Defense - 4 (lost lateral quickness after ACL repair)
Shot - 8 (Made ten 3s in a game once, 34 pts overall that game)
Playmaking - 8
Rebounding - 4 (only because I am 6'2, pretty bad at it really)

PLAYER COMP: (a physically fit) Boris Diaw

Handles: 4 (I have issues taking my man off the dribble on face up's but I've got several hesitation moves that help, especially in the post. I can pass out of a double well in the paint but if you collapse hard on the perimeter, I'm ****ed.)

Defense: 8.5 (I'll get in your ass like a bicycle without the seat. I generally shut guys down, PGs to Cs).

Shot: 7.5 (It'd be higher if I could hit the deep ball more consistently but I'm a deft mid-range shooter ala Kurt Thomas. Can't hit layups to save my life though despite having pretty good right handed hook shot)

Playmaking: 8 (I see everything on the court, which makes me a very effective passer. Problem is that I have difficulties creating space, which hinders my ability to create for others. If you're an effective cutter though, I'll get the ball to you no matter the angle. The team wasn't very good but I've had offenses run through me via the high post/painted area).

Rebounding: TBD. It really depends on the day. I've had 15 rebound games. I've had 4 rebound games. But I usually manage to get my hand on the ball consistently, which helps me at least keep my man from getting it.

I'm 60 now- have to go back to when I was 30-35;

I'm 5'10" and I've always had an issue with gravity. I was a FB player, wrestled, and played some baseball. Played some 5/5 full court ball- used to play against a bunch of cops on the weekends, many years ago.

Handles- 3 Got better as I got older, to the point where I was not an embarrassment, but I was better off the ball. Would wilt against real pressure.

Defense - 7 The wrestling helped, I had good lateral movement and I was good at staying in front of and dogging an opponent. I could be posted up, but would battle for position. At a certain point, though, the quicker guys would cause me trouble. Had a lot of pride in my D, though. Dave Debusschere was my favorite Knick growing up. From my own playing I've come to realize that D is over 50% mental toughness and desire. When I was in wrestling shape I was pretty tenacious.

Shot- 2/7.5 Unless I was playing 1/1, I was very limited going to the basket, and was poor with my left hand, although that got better later on. I would rarely score inside against larger opponents. I was a pretty good midrange jump shooter, though- spotting up and off the dribble. Used to practice a lot of shooting when I was a supervisor at a recreation program. Actually hit 55 and 44 foul shots in a row- and I had to get the ball back myself. My range was limited- I was most accurate inside the HS 3pt line. Tried to copy Bill Bradley in terms of moving to get open- JJ Redick might be a better example today, but I needed space to get my shot off, since I did not jump well. A good defender who could keep up with and stay in front of me would really limit my value offensively.

Playmaking- 2=3 I was not unselfish, but I was not a good enough ball handler and did not see the court will enough while dribbling to be a good distributor. I was a liability on a fast break.

Rebounding - 2-3 I was tough in terms of boxing out, and had enough strength to annoy some folks who didn't understand boxing out, but I did not have the height or jumping ability. I was a better rebounder in 3/3 games, but still nothing to write home about.

Handles: 7 - Not flashy but I protect the ball and can get by people. I can go left and right.
Defense: 7 - Post defense is really good. Perimeter due to age has declined.
Shot: 7 - John Starks streaky.
Playmaking: 8 - I am like Kukoc. I am a Filipino Waiter.
Rebounding: 8 - Boxing out is my thing and I am 6'1" 240lbs.

Well....Back when I signed on (before my 2 Achilles injuries) I was probably the best player on this site. At least that's the kind of confidence I had then.

Was invited to an NBA summer camp (by a former NBA player, nothing official)....When I was in my late 20's.

Now at 42 years old, I can still play at a competitive level. I just don't have or show interest when playing with these young guys or playing with somebody that doesn't play defense.

I would say I'm pretty high in almost all categories. But my main goal now is to walk away uninjured. Basketball is used for exercise only, not for winning. Unless I'm playing with people that know how to play.

Handles 7
Defense 9
Shot 8 (Streaky)
Playmaking 8 (I like passing more than scoring....But most people want me to be more of a scorer)
Rebounding 6

All around skills....In my prime, I was a triple double threat. So I do a little of everything. I've said this from the beginning....In my prime, I was the exact PG the Knicks needed.

Now at 42, I've been compared to Shump with a much better jump shot. Though I think his jumper has looked nice lately. Some say Bruce Bowen, which makes me laugh, because he has no handles, but he can shoot and play defense.

I'm only 6ft tall (with shoes on).....But I play bigger than my size. I used to max 300 on the bench (at 6ft 180), so I'm used to wrestling with the bigs down low. Quick enough to guard up top. I used to get asked all the time what school did I play for? I was probably a better football player than basketball back then. I decided to stick with school and girls. I like my choice. I talk to former NBA players all the time and all they did was get bounced around from different teams, and playing overseas.....No thank you!

I'm around 195 right now.....Showing a little old man gut. But I hide it well.....

Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

Handles - a solid 2 meaning that I cannot take anyone off the dribble unless they gamble for a steal an give me a clear path to the basket. I play in the post, so as long as I don't dribble the ball of my foot it's ok

Defense - 7 , I'll guard anyone trying to post me up, or at least I'll make it real hard to score on me in the post, on the perimiter I can't do nearly as much. I do reach in sometimes which most of the time results in a foul unless I can get my hand on the ball.

Shot- 5, have some post moves, can hit the Tim Duncan bank shot, but I prefer to pass

Playmaking- 6 , I like to pass

Rebounding-7 I will box out, will fight for position, but I cannot really jump

I am 6'2 220, so I am usually the biggest guy, and that's because the hoops that I play at rarely attract anyone bigger

Everything you have ever wanted is on the other side of fear- George Adair

defense - 8
rebounding - 7
play-making - 6
shot - 5 (some days I have a great stroke, other days I couldn't hit water if I fell out of a boat)
handle - 1

I played as a center throughout organized ball but am only 6'4"... kind of a man w/o a true position. I do have an array of defensive tricks to throw you off your game though. Don't get a lot of ball in anymore due to plantar fasciitis though, unfortunately

I'm 6-3 225 lefty that used to be able to dunk on cats but now I'm an old (35) physician with little time to play

Handles - 5. Even when I played in college I was never a dribbling freak. More like a b line driver with quickness

Defense - 8. This is simply a gift. I have long arms (6-5 wingspan) and still hv great lateral quickness. I also anticipate well

Shot - 8. This is probably the only thing that has improved with time. I guess because I concentrate on my mechanics more.

Rebounding - 7. Above average mainly because I'm the tallest. But I also box out well

Playmaking - 2. Besides setting good picks for others, I'm basically a stand in the corner 3pt Option. Lol

Average 6.22...above average player at this point. Comparison pre-Crack Lamar odom.

pet peeves
1. I hoop in harlem and guys are always playing. But why are these teens high all the time. They're like 6-6 kids who are physically great but smoke
2. Why do the tall guys try to be perimeter players?
3. It's already hard to stomach this and 1 street crap but what's up with these styles. These kids wear mismatched pink and purple gear. Smh

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I played in college as a 6'0 undersized combo guard. Spot up shooter and facilitator. That was 7 years ago. I would say now:

Handles 7
Defense 5
Shot 10
Rebounding 3
Playmaking 8

50 yrs old, 5'10", 230. Built more like a Linebacker now than a PG. Still quick laterally. Quick hands. Lost a lot of my hops, but i'm playing Old Man style lately so no big deal. I'm still a pest on D. Was always fast with good fast twitch muscle. Lost a step but still surprisingly quick and I use good technique on D, which a lot of these young guys totally ignore.

Handles - 5 I've got basic skills. One really good crossover move. I keep it simple.
Defense - 8 This is my strong suit. I trick kids all the time cuz they don't think i'm quick enough at this age.
Shot - 6 Worked on my shot and still not great but much better now than when I was young.
Rebounding - 5 Not bad for a short guy.
Playmaking - 6 Decent passer but no Jason Kidd.

To be honest i'm just glad that I can still play at all. Knees are OK. Not really pushing my limits anymore. Gotta coast at this age.

Handles-5 overall okay
Defense-7- Good fundamentals, just low concentration
Shot-8- Decent 3 ball and streaky jumper
Rebounding- 9- Pretty big and can get up there
Playmaking-4- I can make the open pass but not really that great of a passer.
