I think Mudiay is a talent that we have to take our chances who has John Wall's potential prior to his development the past couple of seasons
He will take some time to develop, however, a PG with the ability to defend a couple of positions, push the tempo, with his ceiling compared to John Wall
Taking the best player available at number 4 and Justice Winslow is a very good player, however, like when we had Iman, we need TOP TIER players to fully utilize and fit his skill sets which we do not have
I would not be upset if we drafted Winslow, however, Mudiay has the chance to be the NEXT TOP TIER PG for many years to come

IMO, I believe
The Triangle is interchangeable
And Shaq was a DOMINANT CENTER that the Bulls never had and worked quite well for the system
There is no reason to believe that a TOP TIER PG can not fit in the system, if needed we tweak the system a bit just as it was tweaked on the Lakers
On top of that, I believe there a some G/F's in the D League that would fit his ability to penetrate/finish/facilitate

Some of these players below FineStrng and Briggs has brought up in the past

1- Jerrelle Benimon SF, SF/PF, strech 4, maybe a Lamor Odom type player as a triple double threat

2- Jarell Eddie, G/F, a Danny Green type talent on shooting

3- Scotty Hopson, G/F, another G/F that can shoot and score/penetrate/facilitate, decent versatile game as well

3 IMO, are must adds to our roster, to 2year deals and 3year deals with leverage with partial guarantee for year 1 and unguaranteed after
===================================================================================================================================================

1- Jerrelle Benimon SF, SF/PF, stretch 4
SF/PF, Stretch 4
6-9 250pds, Triple double threat

2- Jarell Eddie
6-7 220pds, 3pt sniper, G/F

3- Scotty Hopson, G/F, G
6-7 205pds, 3pt shooer that can also penetrate/facilitae G, G/F

There are plenty of other talents that we should look at as well such as

International older Center as a smaller Yao Ming that has said he wanted to goto the NBA recently but has a higher chance going to a team with no STATE TAX at a multiyear deal at 2-3m with about 20m-25m as a rotational Center
Boban Marjanovic

Thabeet - he is ready now, after a couple of years developing, it is time for him to possibly break out and be a solid rotation Center at the very least that could be a DPOY like a Roy Hibbert

Jared Cunningham *really has improved his shooting and has the ability to penetrate/finish like a poor mans Monta Ellis, once compared to Westbrook and was a mid lottory pick*

Nate Walters *depending on our roster as a shooter off the bench, Sniper*

There are many more other talents however, for us there are only so many young players we can acquire without even considering UNDRAFTED ROOKIES as well as 2nd rounder that we could likely acquire

Eddie Griffen/Khem Birch, as stetch 4's

CJ Fair *Josh Howard comparison*

Willie Reed *poor mans Greg Monroe*

some PG's like

Aaron Craft, Tim Frazier, Darrius Morris, Tourre Murry

There are a lot of possible 2nd rounders, undrafted players, and late 2nd rounders to acquire to stash and develop like we did with Thanasis
Speaking of which, if we can trade Calderon + our pick for Giannes and a trade exemption *other picks we acquire back*
CA isn't an easy player to build around and takes up a lot of the cap, a talents like Giannes's versatility and defensive abilities would fit and also have his brother Thanasis together, on top of trading Calderon
It is a no brainer if we can get rid of Calderon's contract, acquire Giannes, and their 1st round swap for our #4 pick

I would like to move up to acquire Bobby Portis and could sign Jermaine Oneil to develop him with the vet min, if needed, and guarantee that he will be our development coach for years to come in which he would mentor/develop Portis under his wings
I simply do not see us being able to sign TOP TIER FA's if other teams are willing to offer them similiar contracts, so we will have to find other creative ways of trying to build our roster
In fact, Phil Jackson probably should go to a team like, Lakers, Twolves, Philly, as they actually have the ability to improve much with FA/salary, many draft picks and future draft picks, and the players needed to execute his system
Though NO OTHER TEAM will pay him the money he got with Dolan

I think Muddiay should be our pick because there are many G/F's that would fit his strenghts, while Winslow would be a very good player, TOP TIER PG's that could defend multiple positions do not grow on trees
I do not think Muddiay would be a Tyreke Evans type talent, he would be a better Shaun Livingston with also the potential to POST UP as well, he has LEGIT PG's skills and isn't the tweener that Tyreke Evans is
While there will always be many G/F"s available to acquire, just like at Wesley Johnson, Jae Crowder, Aminu, Iman Shumpert, and future undrafted talents, FA's, D League call ups, and International talents

I would not be upset if we did draft a smaller Jimmy Butler with a bit of James Harden in him, however, Winslow would need to play with a leader/defender like Lebron did with Iman with other versatile STAR's that we simply do not have

I guess it would depend on the work outs but if
Muddiay has the higher upside and we should take the best player available
As much of the league as STARTING PG's, we are on the teams that do not, also I would not mind if we traded Shved to a team like Clippers that clearly needs a LEGIT backup PG if we can acquire future assets in the process

As LATE 2nd rounders and that could be undrafted
there are many 2nd rounders to be stashed or signed, and/or undrafted FA's

1/2- Marcus Thortnon at G and David Laury at F that Briggs has brought up

3- Sam Thompson as a smaller Ariza comparison at G/F

4/5- Harrison Brothers with Aaron Harrison and Andrew Harrison

6- Quind Cook of Duke as a Norris Cole comparison type talent

Michael Qualls would be another talent that could be in the middle/late 2nd round to stash or develop right away

IMO, with the rise of the cap, we should sign 3year deals to some of these talents really like TOP 3 players listed, some other D League/Euro talents, along with some possibly undrafted talents to 2nd rounders

Along with our draft pick, possible trades, purchasing/trading for more picks
With FA and how we are able to attract or sign FA's, we would get an idea if Phil Jackson will be trying to contend right away or giving a 2-5year swing to improve while working on development/acquiring assets

Iman Shumpert
Tyson Chandler

vs

Justice Winslow
WCS

we would still need to develop the bottom talents and possibly even have to reach to acquire them, if we had a TOP 2 pick, we could likely trade for 2 TOP 5/10 talents that could be better had we tanked properly
along with possibly future draft picks

My point is without ALL STAR TALENTS, these "role players" are solid only if they are teamed up with ALL STARS that fits their skill sets and provides leadership/scoring/facilitating etc
It is how you surround those talents with TOP TEIR talents that FIT, as CA is not Lebron but is still a very good scorer but not the leader/defender/facilitator Lebron is, and I believe we would need atleast 1-2 talents that are better than CA if we truly want to be contenders at some point, minimum 1, making CA a Robin instead of Batman, possibly need a Superman ahead to form a Triangle

IMO,
NixLuva really likes WCS but if we are going to go with that roule of having a athletic Center, I would much rather overpay for DeAndre Jordan
Jordan played excellent while Blake Griffen was out, though they also have CP3, Reddick/Matt Barnes stepping up huge during that stretch
Point is we know what we would be getting with Jordan while one day WCS could be better than DeANdre Jordan, I wouldn't exactly bet on it with the #4th overall pick
IF Phil Jackson really believe in DEFENSE like he says and has interest with WCS, wouldn't Jordan make more cents? Without the Sicklecell disease...
WCS is more mobile, but Jordan has the combination of strength, athleticism, length, rebounding/shot blocking/help defense and 1v1 defense ability
Jordan's MAX would be about 20m, though we might not have to offer him that, with a 3year deal with player option for 4th, with "a hand shake deal after we get bird rights in 3 years to provide long term stability, as the cap will continue to rise and Dolan's deep pockets"

We likely would need to trade Calderon and NOT stretch him, and that would cost us more than 1 future 1st rounder to do so
While it is possible we can acquire assets with talents like Tim Hardaway JR, Shved, and Early, to help us acquire some assets, that would give us an extra 10m, making us right under 40m to be able to spend this off season

It depends on what PHil Jackson's vision is and his strategy that he has "planned as he has said"
Can Phil Jackson convince others to take a paycut like Lebron, Wade, Bosh did in 2010 but with NO STATE TAX, it would likely need 2 players taking slightly less and a possible future STAR like WHiteside/Durant in the making, as we give a *wink wink* deal with a 4year deal/player option for 4th, and Dolan handshaking a future promise to make up for their sacrifices and allow them to retire and make up their losses in future contracts and marketting/future business oppourtunities together along with THE MSG Channel
If we go the Jordan route, there are a couple ways we can pair him up

1- LA with Jordan playing a similiar role with BG but with LA who has the better shot and more length
Maybe even more versatile than BG but doesn't put up the numbers BG does...

*5-6m FULL MLE with raises vs Bi Annual Exemption aka LLE of under 3m* which could be applied to all of these scenarios
WITH THE MLE, while using Cole Aldrich's early bird *possibly cutting him immediately, therefore giving him free money in order to have the FULL MLE with his vet min cap hold
We could use the MLE on a 1year rental *so we can have a MAX for Durant or Whiteside *should be much less as he doesn't have many years of experience*
We could use part of this to secure a D Leager or Thanasis to a 3year deal to avoid future poison pills with team options for 3rd or another player instead though Thanasis tooke a big paycut to play in The D League last year to learn the Triangle for Phil Jackson and still have most of it for a poison pill used on a 3rd year player that is a 2nd round talent

OR a POISON PILL for Mike Muscula that could be a Laundry Fields or Asik type of deal, especially if they do resign Millsap and Carroll, they likely will let Muscula walk
Either 3year 18m, or 3year 25m deal which isn't much with the rise of the cap as it seems agents and players are already projecting with Wesley Mattehws saying he wants 15m at about 30 years of age and coming off surgery, along with Ed Davis asking for 8m on a multiyear deal or 10m on a short term deal, which is at best a backup and once 3rd PF/C
My point is the poison pill would not be much of a poison by the time year 3 hits, in which we would have 2year already to fully utilize the cap to acquire talents with the rise of 20m per year with the cap projections to fill out our roster with CA age....

Whether we pair him up with LA *max is about 20m*

2- Greg Monroe *max is about 14m to start*

3- KP or Mudiay/Russell, CA and 2 G/F's like WEsley Matthewws/Danny Green at about 10m each with Jordan, so SMALL BALL with Jordan

4- trading down with possibly Detroit for 8th pick and Reggie Jackson, along with the 38th pick

5- Bledsoe and swap of picks? though Rumors were shot down, Bledsoe and Jordan would fit together pretty well as they both have chemistry already together with the 2 hardest positions to fill, spread the floor with some shooters/3 and D talents and I think it could be pretty solid for the East

D League Talents that we should sign regardless of who we draft and sign
