It affects our ability to acquire TOP TIER talents, whether this summer or next summer, along with other WINNING TEAMS already, and upcoming talents that will likely be able to interest talents over The NYK's
Lakers and New York are the TOP 2 teams that most young talents will want to play for while Lakers will have even more cap space and a STRONG CORE of nice young players to build with

it will be hard to acquire Tier one talents vs The Lakers, winning teams, and upcoming teams with cap space/young players/assets
Lakers will have

Towns/Ok4
Julius Randle
2nd round draft pick this summer, pick 34, *THEY CAN DRAFT A SOLID PG here in this draft as well to work with or another very good player*
Nick Young
They could keep Wesley Johnson as they own his early bird rights and still have a lot of cap space to work with this summer and next seasons TOP TIER talents with over 70-80m to work with and a FULL MLE on top of it, they can sign one player at a huge discount this summer and still have much room to to attract talnets next season

*early bird rights after this upcoming season, with limited cap hold*
Jordan Clarkson
Jabari Brown

up to 3 MAX talents to persue or they can sign 2 in 2017 and fill out the roster accordingly with the rest of the cap space
They can add talent this summer to contend for a play off spot this summer as well signing one of

LA
Kevin Love
Monroe

DeAndre Jordan
Marc Gasol

So with the projected cap going up to about 80-90m and a young talented core, they could have the ability to sign 3 MAX players with Kobe contract coming off the books next summer in 2017 and possibly even more
With the early bird rights of Clarkson and Brown, they will have the ability to resign them or match an offer, to also still have the FULL MLE NEXT SUMMER as well
This upcoming season, they could seek to sign cap friendly deals, or add TOP TIER FA's with a core to likely contend for a title for the upcoming years
Whether it could be selling it the LA with Towns/OK4 to pair with or other talents like Kevin Love or Greg Monroe, any FA will choose the Lakers over NYK's with their core and ability to contend/improve for many years upcoming

MLE next SUMMER

I agree they definitely benefited Last night. Don't forget Jordan Clarkson is Pretty good too
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

their pick going sixers will hurt (like bargs) but yeah ... their future looks brighter.

maybe they screwed it up by going for rondo and/or melo

I won't say it was exactly the same, but Bryant and Randle being out was similar to what happened with Robinson and SA years ago when they were able to get Duncan.

Same is true of Minnesota, which had a number of injuries throughout the year which hurt helped them in the long run.

We would have been in a similar situation if Anthony had closed down his season earlier rather than later.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

Yeah…exactly what a caring Carmelo was thinking as he labored through his injuries.

The league loves guys like you. You make it easy to sweep shyt under the rug. Explain Cleveland's 3 number one picks to me after LeBron. Explain why everyone says that Ewing lottery was rigged. I'm not the first. I read somewhere a long time ago how important the Lakers winning was important to ratings and the owners all wanted the Lakers to do well because they helped the revenue stream.

So many possible lineups for Lakers, however, they will be back contenders really fast with the way they lucked out with the #2 overall pick
Jordan Clarkson and Jabari Brown will be RFA in 2017 and they could keep as I mentioned above in addition to Towns/OK4, Juluies Randle, and Swaggy P is the only one on the books at about 5m per year
ON TOP OF THAT, they have pick #34 this summer in addition to pick #2
Like any other team, they can also purchase 2nd rounders that they will have the draft rights to and stash, develop in the D League before signing them next year

Meaning by 2017, they will have the ability to attract and sign 3 ALL STAR talents like the Heat did in 2010 in addition to the development's of the above
They could sign LA/Millsap/Gasol, as a MAX talent contract as a discount this summer, and could "contend" for a play off spot by next season

Durant
Whiteside or Horford * depending if they draft Towns or if OK4 can develop to a PF*
another MAX PLAYER or divide it up on a couple of talents, if Lebron wants to chase RINGS, they could have a dynasty in the making

FULL MLE in 2017 with the cap holds on Jordan Clarkson and Jabari Brown being low, they have a BRIGHT FUTURE
They can use part of this to keep Kobe but if Lebron was in the conversations, Lakers will choose Lebron and Durant, possibly Whiteside or Horford, instead of keeping Kobe at his age
There is a chance that Kobe could resign at much less but is unlikely due to his *personality and age*

if I owned stock in the NBA I would care more if they were cooking the books.

I don't find the process fun with the draft. It's not public, with the NFL it goes by record. With this system of lottery it allows for things to be more covert it's not an open and shut case. I liked it better when it went by record. This isn't preventing tanking if anything teams are tanking for better odds and more teams are in in it.

Do you guys realized the Knicks are the only team that got f'ed. I know a lot of you guys are hard core basketball guys. I know I'm pissed about this draft lottery and I might get the player I want out if the deal. They have to get rid of this lottery system. It's not good it leaves a lot of room for speculation especially when Cleveland gets 3 out of 4 that is F'ing ridiculous.

have you ever seen a roulette board get one color many times in a row which completely defies the odds?

how about a poker tournament where players kept drawing 2 outers?

the point is that this happens and will only adjust over a very long period of time.

I like the lotto. Its exciting and does not reward the complete tank. The NFL system is stupid and boring.

Well it rewarded the complete tank this year with Minny getting the top pick and screwed the team that didn't tank with us. So there's that.

Its not that they are lucky.

Phil Jackson traded a guy that was a top 5 center this year, a quality defender and guy that's making 6.6MM next season and just dropped 28pts and 8rbs for 2 second round picks and Calderon. Which is ****ing embarrassing. There is never a moment of thought to anything this franchise ever does.

This.

It's like a guy who ditches his fairly hot g/f, and then complains that the guy who picks her up gets laid more often. But it's OK , cos he's got this outdated '70's plan to score a threesome as a result.

The lakers are definitely on a much better path then the Knicks. If we were to obtain the third pick, we would have been ok, because I happen to believe that Russell is THE best player in this draft.
Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)
