i would go out and sign Marcus Fizer to basically replace KT for the LLE. I think we can sign him for that--2 years 3.6mm and then move KT in the best deal I can get. If that means Jerry Stackhouse , if that means aaron Mckie and a 2005#1[my prefernce:>)]---if we catch lightning in a bottle with a stackhouse, then we have a very nice relatively low cost player that becomes an expensive valuable chip. If Marcus Fizer can play like he did to end the season--he becomes a cheap YOUNG chip. THIS is how you change things--everything cant be based on what type of max player we can get for ending contracts. Moves to acquire --lets say stock tat has gone sour but has produced big time in the past for very little cost--buying low and waiting to see oif the value comes back with PT. I mean Marcus Fizer had a 31 point 20 rebound game the last week of the season when he was given time. Not to many Knicks can do that now even if they played 48 minutes.

where does Fiz play? Sf? PF?

Is the knee good?

"past performance does not guarantee.........."

With Stack do you assume H20 is not playing?

How is this, how about the strong play of Sweets allows us to trade KT for ending contracts ourselves? Imagine growing a talent and shedding another one? Then we either trade them for picks, or let that contract, deke and oh just fall off the books?

Replace with cheap hungry players! like a Fiz, or what ALES us!

If we start now, we can get this salary undercontrol by the time H20 is extinct.

Marcus Fizer he can play primarily 4 but we can move him to 3 if needed. Think of anthony mason:>) we grabbing him off the stockpile at 25 years old and signing him for small $

id like to see if i can get more for KT but an expiring contract like laetner could also come in handy mid season. you understand the deal---while KT is a nice player, WE are NOT winning a championship with him. Get an asset for him--and an expiring contract is also a nice assest. That freeze up 20mm long term and gives us a chip we can use this year if need be+ the player.

Would Seattle do KT for Jerome James/future 1st(lottery protected) straight up? He's an expiring deal but at least is 7ft. I think he'd have more value at deadline than KT will with his diminshing production + 3years 20mm remaining on his contract.

How can we sign Fizer if he was drafted by the Bobcats? Also, Houston is not extinct or done IMO. We have to give him some time to heal. If it doesn't work out after the begining of next season then we have to make major moves to replace him.

The problem there is that he refuses to have surgery this summer so next season he will play 30 or 40 games and sit out the next half year with injuries. ANother 50% of our salary cap, WASTED by the worst GM in the world!! Only a retard would sign Houston to a MAX-Contract.

I think Fizer commands more than that, he made over $4 million just this year.

I agree though, KT's gotta go.

that was a rumored deal before draft day, but obviously it didn't go through, so i guess someone didn't like the offer.

I am surprised no one mentioned Fizer until now- he was a RFA and once picked by the Bob Cats became an unrestricted FA.

I was looking at his profile & stats and he is listed at what, 6'8"- not exactly the upgrade in height we are looking for.

And if we could possibly have Doleac, McDyss or Fizer for the LLE- my preference is Doleac.

Please, no Jerry Stackhouse- if you want to bring in a small to play SG/SF, then go sign Stephen Jackson- it seems no one wants the guy, yet he is a good shooter.
