Best of his career

36 min 17 points 12 rebounds 2 assists 2 blocks 55% shooting.

Hes 26 so his upward cycle as a C is still going up.

If you could get this production in 24-26 minutes(and increase of his 14) he'd be a certain value with the huge discounts on contracts.

To show you the value--here is Greg Monroes 36 minute cut

36 18.5 12 rebounds 2.4 assists Blocks 0.6 49%

Essentially you would be getting a player at half the cost for the same production with more rim protection better free throw and mid range shooting from Anjica.

Not to offend any of you emos, but cutting yourself for 36 straight minutes sounds just downright over the top.

Perhaps inhuman.

even thought i HATE "per 36" stats (it simply extrapolates and assume that production is consistent with more playing time), i am a fan of "Jinx". i think hes an excellent defender with an underrated offensive game
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

What's his market value? Can we get him on a one year, $3 million deal?

Agreed on the PER 36. A guy racking up stats on the 2nd stringers won't necessarily perform the same against the starting 5. Also, sometimes guys are limited to 24 mins because they rack up fouls, not cause the minutes aren't available to them. To assume that a 24 min guy could stay on the court for 36 mins may be an overstatement.

I hated that post on Deandre Jordan which penalized him for his 38mpg stats by using per 36min stats and giving guys like Hassan Whiteside the benefit of extrapolating his 22 mins to 36.

The only benefit of per 36 is to understand what the stats mean in the context of an average players minutes. You cannot credit them with the minutes not played.

You know I gonna spin wit it

I wouldn't go with excellent but I think it is good enough. He could be quicker on his rotations and he must learn to defend with out fouling. That could be what keeps his value low along with looking awkward and being a thin center. imo.

fair point! what do you think he's worth? i think we can get him on the cheap. 2yr 6mill

I've noticed over a long period of time players tend to play yo their 36 minute stats. A case in point was explaining Derrick Williams today. His 36 minute cut was 15-7-2 and he played above that hen he got the PT end of year. You can follow uptrend in player development and consistency. I don't think Anjica is a 36 minute player--really no player should be. But what can I get out of him for 24-26 minutes and I think yu just scale the average up--I think that is what he gives you. It showed when he got those extended minutes this season as well. If I thought Greg Monroe was a championship type guy--its a different story but say Anjica at 3-4 years 6-7mm is less than half of what Monroe will make--you're not married to him. I don't want to marry Greg Monroe. Id like to see us get aggressive in the draft and get Towns/Okafor---Wood---Johnson and build out on our own.

I really like Favors I would take him over Monroe. Matter of fact he's probably my 2nd favorite big behind Anthony Davis. Love his size. Too bad he is not available. Definitely a player on the uptick. Way better than Kanter which is why Utah held on to him and traded Kanter

If the Knicks draft Okafor or Towns - they will need a more veteran pressence who can play half the game or more when the youths are struggling with foul trouble and all that.

I think Ajinca would be perfect. New Orleans may be distracted trying to get AD to sign that extension this summer. This is a good RFA to chase.

Hes a UFA. A good player with nice upside that we wont have to marry.

Oh, if he's UFA, I would absolutely chase him.

To me he's a guy you overpay a little, but on a short deal - offer him a one and one at $7.5M per. $15M for two years, then he can cash in on the FA cap explosion in 2016 or 2017 if he wants.

I much rather do that than 4yrs $80M to Greg Monroe

I doubt he gets over 4m and I think that is a stretch. Teams are not looking to pay their back ups big money. I think je maybe one of those FAs that slips through the cracks and gets sign for a number lower than fans think

Maybe so. Even at $5M per year, he's a huge bargain. Even backup centers get pretty good money - see Marcin Gortat. He was a guy who was averaging 4ppg and 4rpg and then gets traded to Phoenix and averaged 13ppg and 9rpg in more minutes. Now he's a cornerstone to Washington's very good team

The 36m STAT could be very misleading, however, for Ajinicia, he showed for stretches that he could perform with the injuries to Anthony Davis/Ryan Anderson/Asik throughout the season

He is my "legit" FA to acquire and feel 7-8m is the price you would have to pay to be realistic, right between STARTING MONEY and SOLID B+ and backups Centers
Backup BIGS are about 5m a season, so giving his ace/ceiling, a 2year deal with maybe team option for 3rd is reasonable
