Begley quoting Ford:
New York ranks Towns at No. 1 on its draft board, followed by Okafor, Mudiay, Ohio State’s D’Angelo Russell and Duke’s Justise Winslow, sources inside the organization told Ford.

Any reactions to this particular order? Except for Porzingis replacing Winslow, this is the same order Ford ranks the prospects.

Any reason for the Knicks to put out this particular order as a ruse of some sort? I'm assuming that Ford actually got the info from an "insider" and is not lying.

Anyone feel that Stein not being in this group is meaningful?

Can workouts and other info change this order drastically?

Is it strange that somebody would leak the exact order, 5 deep, at this time...or any time?

Is Ford just full of shyt or being used?

First time I've thought about the Knicks being interested Mudiay, though. I assume we had people in China looking at him. Maybe Marbury sent an email to Phil?

Mudiay/Russell/Winslow all fit the "We need guys who want to go to the basket" comment by Jackson, and the first two are also playmakers.

Just wondering...

Can you be a little more specific?...Kidding..Stein is a figment of Briggs imagination..I have a feeling the rest of the NBA might have that order too..

Mudiay in front of Russell is interesting, but I think it is a ploy to force Philly to give up an asset if they fall below the Knicks. I would think they take Russell all day every day.

You know I gonna spin wit it

Nothing surprising about the order, it's probably very similar or the same to just about every team's.

No meaning to Stein not being there. The whole "we're going to draft WCS with our pick" was bizarre fearmongering.

Doubt it other than for Mudiay. There's so little known about him that if he were bad in workouts he could really drop.

This might be the order of the draft for nearly all mocks and ours but I doubt Ford has a source in our organization confirming it for him. He is going off assumptions and what is the consensus for all mock drafts.

That list isn't exactly a surprise revelation. Most would probably have those names in the top 5 even if they flip the names a bit. It really just underscores that there are some good options for this team in the top 5. In the end we can feel good about our chances even if we did fall past the top 2 picks.

these are called SMOKESCREENS leaked to the media. dont take any of this seriously!
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

When I print the list and hold it up to the mirror, the truth comes out.

So really we want OK4 over Towns, and Russell over Mudiay? Makes sense- try to talk up Towns and Mudiay in the hope teams prioritise them as the top C and PG

None of this is relevant because the Lottery is not set. How do you put a smoke screen out if there is nothing?

Exactly none of these leaks are relevant. Phil is just trying to throw ppl off. Whether you want to call it a smokescreen or misdirection or bs...my point is these leaks aren't to be taken too seriously

Mudiay is the shocker. Not because I think he's a scrub but because I think Russell and Winslow will be really good

I dont think anyone knows how good Mudiay is. I mean there just isnt much to dissect. He played very well against pros as an 18 year old in China, but even then he was hurt, then didnt get off the bench until they needed him in the playoffs. Marbury gushed about him although he did say his shooting is bad. I mean this kid could blow away GMs in workouts.

His position surprised me the most. You would think that Winslow had earned his move up the draft board.

If you want to give Philly the idea that you want Russell so maybe they deal if the draft position is a certain way, you don't put Mudiay at #3.

On the other hand, maybe Philly really likes Mudiay at this point, and just put out their interest in Russell as a smokescreen.

The "solution" to all of this is simple- just get pick #1.
