He's a NY street legend, and Stef's older brother.

Haha I can't believe it. I really can't believe Zach Marbury surfaced. He plays on the Rucker league, set a ton of records at Lincoln before Stef and Bassy.

Obviously he's here just for Stef, and why not. I love this team, Isiah's gotten some local guys (Barret, Marbury, etc) and some potential standouts (Chan, Hawkins). I'm excited for summer league for once.

Zach is Stephs younger brother.. he is a rucker baller tho. And I agree that he got he invite based on who he is related to..

Andre Barrett is the better point guard IMO

BTW, some of the other guys on the list are pretty good. David Hawkins is a college scorer. I don't know how well his game translates, but he can score. The guy from Xavier, Myles is strong and can board a little. I think Brett Nelson can shoot if I'm remembering the right guy.

This is what impresses me the most about Isiah. That roster right there is very impressive. The fact that he convinced 3rd year pg Frank Williams to participate as well as Dermarr Johnson and Cerezy. It allows him to evaluate the last few guys on our roster before guarenteeing them a roster spot.

I think Ariza and Dermarr will battle for a spot. I think Chan and Cerezey will battle for a spot. And I think Sweetney will dominate the league and get a ton of confidence heading into training camp. It will also get him in shape before the start of camp. Almost all of these guys were big time college players including Nelson and the rest of the Fla guys as well as Hawkins. I can't wait to see what this team does.

Frank
Dermarr
Ariza
Sweetney
Cerezey

starting in summer league has me soooo excited. just goes to show how lame the Layden years were when he refused to try anybody worth while in SL.

Briggs,

It definitley looks like Isiah and Co. did their homework on this years rookie class. It's almost like we had 4 second round picks.

I would love to buy out Shandon and Moochie to make room for some of these guys.

this is why I keep saying a trade for someone like Walker or Webber would be great because it would clear out so much dead weight and let us use the roster spots for projects. Remember Starks and Mason were projects, Ben Wallace and Brad Miller were undrafted... these guys do exist, but not when you roster is clogged w/ Moochie, Othella, Deke, KT, Shandon and co.

I think you see Moochie bought out as the job should be Franks anyway and Frank's a strong defender that can guard at the 1 or 2. If the Knicks can save 5 bucks I think you see Shandon moved as well. I have no idea how but he's just gotta go. We will see.. the guy demands playing time, refuses to go on IR and stinks.

Why do people keep saying Steph is younger? Can't they do math? Steph is 27 and Zach was born in 1980 (according to Matt's original post), making him 24.

I always thought Marbury was the youngest of 4 brothers, I guess I'm wrong. I know he has an older brother I think named Norm who I believe is decent. Zach is here just to appease Stef I'd assume.

The Knicks summer roster could possibly beat the current Knicks, lol.

The team is truly stacked. Their are alot of point guards on the rosrer. I'm seeing it was away to make Frank be aggressive. Frank hasn't really earned his spot in the league yet. Zack, Barrett, Tim Gittens, Hamilton, are all point guards and very decent once at that. Let the best man win.

Zack Marbury is the youngest Marbury male. All of Marbury's brothers play ball. Zack made the mistake of comming out of college too soon. Compared to Marbs Zack s pretty wack. Zack still can play this game well enough to make a NBA team.

Very interesting.

Sweetney only has Anthony Myles, and Brent Wright as competition so it's safe to say Isiah is going to try to groom Sweetney and feature him in this summer league.

DeMarr has alot to worry about With Ariza, Hawkins and Nelson all good players.

Isiah knows what he is doing. He might not do anything until this summer league is over. He has it set up like he will be trying to evaluate players. He will definately be using a few players from this team.

I'm really excited about the Summer League.

I wouldnt be surprised if Zack Marbury wasnt the best guard on the SL team behind Frank Williams/ I was shocked that he didnt get drafted--hes bigger than steph and while hes a bit erratic --you are talking about a big physical PG who can also score. He did play on some VERY bad RI teams--I believe they were 5-22 his last year, but he had good numbers and if you get a chance to watch him in the SL you will be surprised. He is far from garbage. I don't know if there are other circumstances that put a red flag on him, but you will be surprised at his skills. Myles and Hawkins are other players to watch. We have a pretty good group.
