Nice change.
Smith should get more than that but wants to remain because of the medical team. He played a combined 82 games in his previous two seasons (51 in 2012-13 and 31 in 2013-14).

“I think this training staff has been amazing, helping me stay healthy the entire year,’’ Smith said. “I listened to my body when I was tired, not trying to force the issue. I stayed healthy. I tried to get as much rest as I can, especially with a newborn it was tough. It’s been a really good year health-wise for me.’’

Seemed that he was on the floor after a hard hit, knocked in the face with an opponent's arm, and bloodied for one reason or another on a regular basis. He always seemed to be feeling his head or face after a hit.

Surprised at his durability.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

Yeah he also seemed really happy to be a knick. I was reading about something else and there was a video of his dancing back by the locker room. The narrator called him the next Mark Madsen. I don't think he is brought back but I think I might prefer him to Bargs.

If the money is right, I think he is back. He's had some bad stretches, and he's made some bonehead passes at times, but he's also shown a some things that will make him valuable on the second unit. Surprised at the hatred some have for this guy. He has some skill and plays hard, and seems to understand what is asked for him in this offense.

He was injury free this year, and should be in even better shape next year. Don't see why you would not want him back if the money is right.

It appears to me that many Knicks fans don't understand that role players will get exposed when playing too many minutes, but they look much better when they are in their proper role and limited minutes. This season was a great test for Jason and i'd have no problem with him returning in a limited role.

I think Bargs may be done in NY due to cost. There's no reason to bring him back at this point. We have enough young role players and Phil will bring in more guys to fight for bench minutes at a low cost. There are other bigs who might be more of a value like Ajinca.

Yeah he also cant stay healthy. He missed most of ths year with a calf injury and now has a ligament issue with his thumb. Probably time to move on.

Jason Smith sucks. He is not a good player in any role. Give me Brandon Bass to replace Smith and Bargs and I'll be a happy fan.
