Are more players getting injured today than the late 80s and 90s when hand checking was allowed and the game more physical?

I hope some one can find this out. One thing I do know and that is players like LeBron James would not be getting to the basket without getting knocked on his azz.
I think that more players back then were not trying those crazy shots and crazy dunks. I believe there were less injuries in the late 80s and 90s because players were more careful on throwing their bodies around.

Players are softer today then before....they have guaranteed contracts, so they can afford to sit out and chill while collecting a FREE pay check.

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

Interesting hypothesis... difficult to test.

You would also have to look at the offensive systems being used and the types of shots being taken.

Maybe defenders just don't want to get "posterized" any more.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?
