nobody "thinks" we are going off what Phil has "said"

He has said this is a cornerstone piece. A piece you add an be patient with. He's said the pick is for grooming and growing, and FA is for building out the team. So you can throw the words around, but this is what Phil is saying. You can speculate on his honesty all you want, but he's been very upfront about the Knick's plans for this pick.

They didnt go to a dozen + Kentucky practices to scout Stein. There is 3 years of footage there.

I think Phil not caring about them Sounds pretty wreckers to me, sounds like they do some pretty solid work. I'm really disappointed - I thought he valued them over everything else

I can't for the life of me understand how so many fans and media think the worst of Phil given his career. All this man cares about is winning. All he's done is win. All he talks about is winning. He's written books about winning. People really think he's not seriously working to come up with the best plan he can to make this team a winner? How can a man who's done this much winning be so misunderstood? His ego won't let him just take the money and not do his best to win. It defies logic.

No- Briggs is talking about Phil's dislike of PCI slots on computers- Phil feels they are outdated and not needed anymore. I never thought Phil was techie, but I guess he is.

PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) Definition
techterms.com/definition/pci‎
Some graphics cards use PCI, but most new graphics cards connect to the AGP slot. PCI slots are found in the back of your computer and are about 3.5" long ...

So let me try and de-code the meaning of this OP. Phil who has 13 rings and a $60 million dollar contract is so insecure about his standing that he wants the team to have a worse draft pick so he can look better when he drafts Stein?

it defies logic that you can't fathom that perhaps Phil may not end up being a good GM.

Larry Brown was all about winning too and he may probably did a better job coaching with far less talent and yet he was a horrible GM.

Phil has not proven anything (yet) as a GM.

I've never said that Phil is a lock to be a good GM. The book is still out on that. His best hand will be played this summer and not what he did before that. I do believe that he has the right vision and mental approach that will allow him to be a good GM.

I think Phil has a very clear vision of team construction and that it's not hard to see how he can successfully put a good team together. He'll need sound planning, talent evaluation, cap management and a little good luck along the way. I believe he'll do fine in the areas he can control. No GM is perfect, but I think the majority of Phil's moves will be based on sound basketball principles. It's who Phil is and has always been.

He and his staff have a good amount of options to build up this roster. Most seem to think he has to rebuild the entire roster but in fact his 1st task is to put together a competitive top 6 rotation and go from there. This means he likely needs about 4 players at the most in order to achieve that task. Hopefully one of those players will come in the draft and perhaps 3 in Free Agency.

I don't think Phil cares about the PCI as much as you guys think
