They were talking about it on MSG and some of the guys are really picking the pace up but the guy who I would pick for rookie of the year is Lavine. To me he is the best talent from the last draft that I have seen in the NBA. No one's production stood out in terms of averaging 25 points or anything like that--many of the players per minute stats were close. But Lavine to me showed the best combination of production and upside to say this guy is rookie of the year. IMHO. Also Hood from Utah is on the first team IMHO

If not the recently injury, I thought it would be Noel. His defense make a difference in a game and he has definitely improve his game in offence.

Now, it would be Wiggins.

Best god given talent might be Lavine but for the 1st half of the yr he was learning how to finally play bball. To me hands down choice is wiggins...dude can defend slash shoot post and did I mention his defense? He's already a complete player. Mirotic deserves some praise 2
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

BRIGGS, do you only read your threads? I already said in my rookie thread Noel was the best rookie this year.
Lavine might turn out to be a good/great player, but he was barely noticeable for most of the year, in the stat columns at least.

No way he'd be the #1 pick this year - just another example of you grabbing at straws BRIGGS, you crazy bastard!
Melo is stupid.
If Lavine stayed in school--I guarantee he would be pick #1 this year.

I would still go Noel. He's logged 71 games at 30 mins per. Rookie of the year isn't a measure of how much potential a guys has. If that's the case, it's Wiggins or Lavine hands down.

I like Wiggins, but I would say it's a tie between him and Noels- Noels has some very impressive defensive numbers, can block, steal and rebound.

Hasn't played the same amount of minutes as the other guys. I'll also admit that I hold his age and prior pro experience against in this particular vote. I like Mitotic as a player though.

Wiggins has looked talented. We know that he is/was talented. Has he played good basketball? He hasn't. Mirotic has.

I want a rookie of the year to play smart efficient basketball, not just get buckets.

The problem is they usually just give it to whichever rookie has the highest PPG.

and I personally think that is dumb, and I guess that makes sense since the avg fan is kind of clueless.

Wiggins is the most talented, most impressive and most likely to have a multiple all stars/HOF career.
