i wouldnt touch him - he's playing fantastic right now but those feet and ankles are a huge issue. brook would be wise to opt-out to capitalize on his recent play, but some team is going to regret giving him the ton of money he's going to ask for.

exactly what he's doing. Look everyone Im healthy. Now pay me for 5 years.

He's terrible anyway.. like the Tim Thomas of centers. You will simply and constantly wonder why he's not better

I agree. His last foot surgery was to 'save his career'. His next surgery will probably end it if it is on his foot.

how did the last max deal we couldn't insure work out?

Maybe he finishes his career without getting hurt again - I guess I would want some actual medical advice.

I might go two years for him - $12m each. That is a gamble and as much as I would with him.

No worries. His agent is releasing his medical records.

Stay away from him please. Monroe or Kanter are younger, healthier, have much more upside.

Beat writers are advising Phil to stay away from Kevin Durant because of foot problems, and some of you want to gamble Knick money on Brook Lopez?

Will we now get a Bropez thread every other week?

if it came down to spending the money on Lopez or Kanter, I think I would still have to go with Lopez who isn't much older, though i would neeed a 3year deal and team option with no guarantee for 4th year
Lopez is a player that can score down low while Kanter needs a very good PG to execute for him
I also think Lopez is the better overall talent and this year has been is most healthy year since he was a rook

Though I want Ajincia regardless
And if we decide to go cheap, I would't mind Ajnicia and a combination of other PF/C's like

Koufus
Lavoy Allen/Serephin/Ed Davis
Andray Blatche

I'd consider him - but he isn't my first option and I sure as heck wouldn't go with big money.

Durant is max money and a big gamble.

I'd maybe go 2 years, $12m for Brooke after I already tried and have been turned down by other options.

Can we sign him and then swap him for his brother when Portland's not looking?

Not to mention everyone who becomes a knick becomes injury prone, especially those who already have that label

Right now Brook Lopez is the best C in the NBA. I don't know how we could shove it in the draw and pass completely without checking out a complete medical workup X2. I think in a scenario where Brook would accept taking 2 years at maximum then having following years non guaranteed after a work up that doctors say that there is simply no evidence that this player is in danger to re-injure.

And KD is the best sf in the league today, but that didn't stop you from becoming terrorized about the prospect of trading our pick for him. How does signing a player with an injury history usually work out for us? How often does a player with an injury history have a miraculously injury free year in a contract year and then get injured ?

Also what's with you giving up on defense from the PF and C position lately?
