I'm glad The Nets passed on Cousins. Would have sucked to have him
destroying it over the river.

24/21/10 3 steals, 6 blocks.
24/20/13 1 steal 4 blocks.

I don't think he's been a head case at all.

If he gets those turnovers down he will become a dream. He could also improve as a shooter but I think Cousins gets a bad rap.

Just goes to show what a big man in today's NBA can do. Cousins is a beast I'm kind of happy for him I think he figured it out and put his full attention to the game of basketball. Let's hope this is the result of maturity.

Kind of reminds me of the Georgetown basketball players. They use to compete in the off season together. I don't know if these Kentucky guys do that.

That's 48 points on 47 shots in those 2 games with 10 turnovers.
Obviously the assists and rebounds are great but I think he's overrated.

What if The Kings get lucky & wind up snatching a Russell or Mudiay?

If he gets some help on the Offensive end, his FG% will pick up.

A Cousins, Davis, Noel, Jordan. - I want a big guy like that.

after we don't get the #1 pick, how much do the odds increase of getting #2?

I wouldn't say he is overrated as his numbers are in line with the recognition he gets. His salary is in line with his production. He isn't really a household name or gets superstar treatment at the moment either.

But this a prime example of how in todays NBA as good as your big man is, it comes down to the Guards. They don't have a high level PG/SG so they don't make playoffs. The days of Hakeem, Shaq, Ewing, Robinson, Duncan types leading there team to 50 win seasons yr after yr from the post are over.

But at the same time its harder to land a Cousins then it is to land a high quality PG since they come out every yr.

PGs and Centers should be your most consistent position as far as production if you want to win a Championship.....

To put it simple...the person controling the rock and dribbling the most....And the person in the paint the most. You build around those positions as your foundation. Phils triangle eliminates the need for a star PG, which helps accelerates the build process...in theory.

Thats why its hard for us to visualize a championship team because those spots are currently open. If Melo was more of an effective point forward like lebron.....it would be easier to build around him. Same thing if Melo could guard and produce like a center. But he cant due to his size and injury history. So he will always be in need of another star or two at those critical positions in order for us to succeed with melo as a max player. Thats the hand we were dealt. And a trade is not an option....so forget that idea.
