The Bulls would need to move additional salary, which is where we could intercede. If they get Kevin Love, then Pau Gasol becomes expendable and is a piece we definitely can use. I'd even do the deal if we had to take back Derrick Rose's contract, to allow them to gain cap space to sign a Reggie Jackson, Rajon Rondo or Brandon Knight. I'm not a fan of Rose's game but he'd be a nice stopgap until a D'Angelo Russell physically develops. Thoughts?

I think we're going to be stuck with these kinds of options - where we're not outright signing a star, but helping free up space on the cap for someone who is. And that's ok if we can add some picks back.
