For Kevin Durant and his 22mm $ salary straight up
Yes hes one of the best players in the league I would be willing to risk the injury
We need this pick worse than a Fat lady needs a a Big Mac
I would trade it for an existing player but not Durant like Al Horford

There is no way you trade the pick for Durant straight up. That deal would kill cap space and lose the Knicks a first pick. To me it defeats the purpose of creating cap space and minus a pick. Foot problems are no joke I would have to see Durant play at a high level first to make a deal. I'm not going to listen to what doctors say. I have to see Durant play at his level first for an extended period of time.

If Durant isn't the same player than the Knicks will have a chance to get him free agency in the coming year. I'll take the pick.

The pick is too much for Durant, but Horford is enough to seal the deal?

I would take that option, if presented.

where has the talk of trading the pick come from? Is this other teams talking to us about our pick and talking to reporters? Is this our front office floating it into the media to gauge reaction. Is this Melo's camp.

The only other time I recall hearing this much chatter was when Riley was stuck picking Beasley and I think he clearly was hoping to get Rose instead.

this talk will pick up... we will hear plenty of stories and "proposed" deals and much of that may be true as Phil does his due diligence and guages the value of this pick around the league.

Knick fans are battered, so the thought of trading the pick is blasphemy pure and simple.

Im not worried about the draft pick complimenting Melo. One will be 19, the other 31. Melo is a stop gap to the next era of Knick ball. However if we make a trade and take an NBA player back, that player damn well better be the perfect fit, and Durant is a terrible fit, so I dont even see the point in entertaining this.

Talk about a clumsy fit. No GM is making that trade. It doesnt make sense. As bad as the McDyess trade was there was some logic there. A 20/10 PF with Sprewell/Houston in their primes with some good roles players like Kurt, Harrington, I mean it was a bad move but you could at least see the sideways logic. Camby was always hurt as well... Durant coming to play with Melo just doesnt make sense.

Cleveland traded 2 number 1s, first picks, for KLove..There isn't a GM in America that wouldn't trade the first pick for a healthy Durant..

Once you have a Jones Fracture--you can never be seen as more than damaged goods in the game of basketball. I'm sure people can come back and play--who knows but there will never be a 100% healthy Durant again.

By the way just going back 15 years a top 4 pick has been traded 1 time out of 60. I think in the longer term Cleveland eats that trade hard too.

Are you taking about trading Lebron to Heat or Wiggons to Twolves?
You are probably right but
Lebron wants to win NOW, not develop the next start, his years are limited....

Best way to look at it...

but for me, "healthy" would have to mean NO injuries for this season, and probably the past offseason, too.

Can't recall his off season injury- any relation to the present problem he has?

He's still young, and would be around after Anthony has left, assuming we can resign him.

Move Anthony to the 4, let Durant play at the 3 and his length helps minimize Anthony's weaknesses at PF.

Maybe we could make them take Calderon, too- or at least try to do it.

The recent injuries would keep me from doing this deal, though. Can't take the risk, now.

Bennett may have been a former #1 but his trade value was incredibly low. I think THjr had more value than Bennett did last year.

MVP of the league plus two first round picks for our one and only pick is considered a rape? I hope you meant we would be commiting the rape
