As much as people knock philly, they seem to be in a prime position with their multi year rebuild.

They are stacked with picks, and have some good young players.

I think that they are in much better shape than we are, and statistically, have a much better chance and being a really good team in 3 years than we do.

Not a hater ... just being a realist.

When the cap explodes in a few years..Big market teams will have an advantage..Question is, will Philly be able to keep their players that are being developed?

Philly could be in a great position. It depends on Hinkie. Are the players that he has good enough or does he keep resetting in search of something better?

he can afford to hit the reset button a couple of times and miss on players. That is why you need multiple picks / chances.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Philly is set up for success more than the Knicks, but there's more to it than that. I don't see a clear vision from Hinkie. I see a guy basically just grabbing picks and figuring that with enough of them he'll luck up and get a franchise player or 2. That's kind of a plan, but after you get said players you still have to have a real plan for team building and a style of play that all make sense. Still with a ton of picks you should be able to collect a ton of good talent even if you don't know what you're doing. I can't tell if he actually can judge talent or not. I can't tell if he knows how to blend that talent together and pair up players that will complement each other.

You say the same old thing 100 times. Every team will be getting tv revenue and if you take 2 minutes to read the cba you have to spend the cash you get.Ny has no advantage if we look back at all of the luxuty taxes we paid how many wins did it produce?.

it really all depends on this offseason... if embiid misses more time with injuries it does not look good for philly...

Lebron to Cleveland

I actually think that the small market teams have surpassed the big market teams in many ways.

Small market teams are forced to build more of a grass roots franchise.

Its rare that any top FA's stars leave their teams in general.

No one good will sign in Philly. For that alone, knicks situation is better. Knicks have a franchise and management people take seriously, despite the poor results.

And how many playoffs games have these teams been in the last 5 years..Zero..Their stars will get frustrated and want to leave because they can't improve.

Teams fail when attempting to sign big names to big contracts who happen to usually be faulty players.

You need to build from within and sign mid tier guys like:

West -> Indiana
Milsap -> Atlanta

Teams win with home grown talent.

Those small market teams have no choice but to rebuild thru the draft..No other options..Lakers, Heat, Celtics have all win rings by trades and FA..
