Nice symmetry to that, no?
I'm trying to remember, weren't we supposed to have the coach that has 52 wins?

Who the hell said we would get 52 wins?

Yes Steve Kerr would have Lou Amundson and Lance Thomas and company destroying all comers.

Here's the point: Fisher may yet prove to be a bust but comparing his record to Kerr's is pretty silly at this juncture.

Symmetry temporarily out of sync.

Hope you can deal with it.

When thinking about the warriors, I don't think about Kerr, I think about Curry and how we won meaningless games, putting him beyond our reach.

There was a year when we actually wanted to make the right pick, but couldn't.

I know its ping pong balls, but I sure hope we hold the course and don't win meaningless games 2x vs sixers and once against minny.

This draft will change our franchise - its just a question of do we draft a franchise talent or suffer 5 more years of futility.

Beating the Lakers felt like winning one for Phil. It was seriously misguided.

So let me get this straight... is it your contention that Kerr benefitted from inheriting a team like the Warriors (which had won 47 and 51 games the previous two seasons under another coach), with its core of young talented stars/players, the best backcourt in the game (including an MVP candidate who some say runs the team), the best defensive forward in the game, and one of the most solid benches in the game?

And is it also your contention that Kerr would not have the same success with a Knicks lineup that, for the most part, consists of players who are rookies, or former bench players cast off from other teams?

Pretty shocking and provocative claims.

The NY Jets did this kind of thing the last two years, as did the Giants last year. Players have pride, though, and don't care much about the draft, and in the case of the Jets, they also liked Ryan, so they were willing to play hard for him.

RE the Knicks- MDA and the Knicks also did their best to build Curry's value up before the draft, which was also stupid, unless you really wanted someone else, and I don't think that was the case at that time.

The real surprise of that draft, in hindsight, is that Minnesota did not take him with one of their two picks. Curry/Derozan would have been a great backcourt for them.

You also had the Thabeet pick, which basically meant that Memphis' decided to pass on the #2 pick in the draft, so you can see that it is easy to screw up your draft even when you have a top pick.

There seem to be a number of players worthy of a top 4 pick this year, so I really think we will get a good player. The big thing to me is whether or not he plays a position we really need to be filled- and for me that is center.

I'm trying to remember, weren't we supposed to have the coach that has 52 wins?

Swap rosters- do you honestly think the records remain the same?

I think the swapping Kerr for Fisher would probably be a +- of 10.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

So I said back in the summer our starting lineup will be:

Thomas
Amundson
Bargs
Schved
An undrafted rookie (Galloway)

With a bench of: Tim Jr, Early, another underrated rookie (Wear), Jason Smith, Cole and Larkin, how many wins would you have pegged them down for? 52? 40 something? 60?

So we'd win 22 games and not be on route for a top pick- gee, I sure wish that had happened!

well if the plan was to lose the most games then we hired the right coach.

You're right a top pick and free agent signings and a healthy Melo won't make any difference, we should just fold the franchise!
