Do beat writers sniff cocaine? So KD is going to bypass almost 50mm $ to play here because of Brian Okeefe? Oh man this stuff i s funny--only in NY where we operate the worst franchise in sports history.

I have to say have worn rose colored glasses on this 1 as well. But when you take th fan shades off and look at reality KD is not coming here no chance 0/100

I know that it will be a higher chance that Durant will come than Lebron
While if we do get Durant it would actually give Lebron reconsideration to join in him in NYK, doubt we will the ability to pay both at max salary

but

a great salary, possibly NOT the MAX *as the max could be 30m each in 2017*
Over 20m per year, while Lebron might not even get the max offer as he has shown signs of age, loss of mobility/speed/quickness already, and will likely decline much in the next contract in 2017 *making him the perfect ideal player that becomes a Knick and retires here*

For the Triangle, I do think Durant should learn to post more regardless
Would prefer out 2015 1st rouder, Alex Ainica, Durant, Whiteside, with Thanassis, some more younger prospects in this draft, Galloway and Sanchez, and then a couple of solid players that will UFA's like Battum/Wilson Chandler/Hickson on cap friendly deals

IF Durant and Roc Nation *JAY Z *looks to maximize profits in contracts and off the court in endorsements as they get a % of their clients*

Is that Roberto Duran or Duran Duran?

We won't need cheerleaders if we have Girls On Film

Ron KD is already the 2nd highest endorsed basketball player in the world. If you put KD and Carmelo on the same team--he knows it would be disaster. They play the same position and both take 25 shots. He knows we have NO pivots signed that weve been terrible for years and he plays in a state where they hold the keys to the capitol for him/ So the reason to come to NY for Brain Okeefe doesnt really cut it?

Briggs it doesnt strike me as plausable either but he's an east coast guy, loves Okeefe and loves Fisher more. Guys like to go where they are comfortable. KD's decision isnt coming down to making $150mm vs. $135mm. Its coming down to what he wants and where he will be happy. Hard to see NY being that want I will admit but guys move more now than ever. Nothing is set in stone

Dwight Howard walked away from money, LA and one the most storied franchises to be more comfortable and play where he wanted to play. It happens. Its all about pouncing when the chance happens. Briggs you had a huge plan of non spending to be inthe KD sweepstakes. Now we have zero zilch shot. Your bouncing around a bit here

I did write that and if we can trade Carmelo and open up the money and 4-3 position--I give it the chance it deserves. Having two 4-3 who play from the perimeter makes no sense. Hesa keen upper tier talent. If we had Towns or Okafor in the pivot we'd probably expand our chances at KD to 5%. Without either ZERO. I think with tier one pivots we could mix and match with two 4-3 although it still may not work. If we couldnt trade Melo--hed likely have to go to 6th man.

yea... its all a stretch and starts with the draft. OK4 is the piece. I see Towns as project and simply hope you guys are right and his lack of output is a non factor

If I say he plays the same position as Melo why would he come here does that mean I am injecting Melo hate into the thread?

If Durant was to come here, Anthony moves to 4, with Durant at 3, and you need shot blocking and rebounding center to smooth things out on the defensive end.

I don't see Anthony being able to guard small forwards anymore.

Durant is a decent rebounder with superior length for a 3, and even has some shot-blocking ability. Anthony is not a terrible rebounder, and has a low center of gravity that should allow him to defend at the 4 position, a position he has already played in the past.

Durant has the kind of length that allows you to play an Anthony at PF without much harm as if you played a smaller player at SF. He's been a better passer than Anthony, and hopefully, if he did come here, he and Anthony would understand what parts of their respective games they would have to give up to succeed here. I think both have enough respect for each other so that they could work together.

I doubt if any of this actually happens, but its plausible.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

The team with those two would be horribly balanced. In many ways they are the same player--although Durant is superior. But there is just no way that I would use a combination of all of my cap and a future franchise pivot for a position I have allocated 25 mm a year two even though it might sound sexy. Youd have two F chucking 15's 3 a game with no interior scoring. Im sure Durant knows this.
