Only six FAs can get max contracts from new teams
Nash's contract will only be 11mil this season
Camby's deal still leaves the NUGZ with space for a MAX player.
Foyle signing with the Warriors drops their cap room by 6.5m this year.
Suns offer to Q will likely be matched by the CLIPS if they don't get Kobe. Ginobili reups with Spurs. Brent Barry gets 5mil too.

Jazz signing Giricek and Okur shaves $10mil off this years caproom.
Jazz resign Arroyo for 4yrs 16mil. BOOZER for 10mil frontloaded! Draft picks signed, Utah has spent most of their cash.

thx for the info.

This situation is due to undergo drastic changes for the pistons, spurs, suns (unless they rebuild one more time, btw, how many time did the suns already blew their team away to start from scratch ? amazing.)

Spurs have to save that cap space to sign Manu & Hedo to extensions this year, & also keep enough intact to be able to sign Tony Parker to an extension next season as well...they will probably be desperate to unload Malik Rose.

PHX is out of the Kobestakes! Nash signing for 13mil takes PHX out of the FA game. Wonder what Milos is thinking staring at Nash and Barbosa, not to mention Eisley ahead of him on the depth chart.

Milos wasn't coming over even before they got Nash anyway...what's the difference? i guess he was concerned he wouldn't get playing time over Howard Eisley?

i'm looking forward to seeing what DEN does now...if they really signed Camby to that 5 year $50 mil deal, then that pretty much rules out any max level deals being offered to K-Mart, no? i guess ATL & Utah have the cap space to offer K-Mart a max deal...i wonder if he'd go there if NJ doesn't match it?

Just wondering--where did you get the team cap space info from? I thought the official cap hadn't even been set yet

I also thought the Wizards had cap room in excess of the MLE. I may be mistaken. If they do, I think there is a better shot they won't match Etan Thomas and will go after a bigger name. If they don't have cap room, I think they will definitley match him for the MLE.

Got the info from ESPN insider. The numbers are indeed a guess, although based on what the CAP is expected to be. So you can take these numbers with a grain of salt. I'd say + or - 2mil within the actual figure.

TMS:

The Nuggets can still offer someone the MAX if Camby is averaging 10 mil over the course of his deal. Camby's deal will probably be 8, 9 , 10, 11, 12 mil in the next five seasons, leaving DEN with 14-16million to play with. They can still extend an offer sheet to Kenyon at near MAX figures while also signing up a guy like Doleac.

From the Denver Post: "The contract will also be structured to give the Nuggets more flexibility to pursue other free-agents this summer. "

Stromilhe Swift hasn't received an offer yet? The Nuggets and Bobcats and to a lesser degree the Hawks have the money to go after him.
