Rockets are the new team to beat if they can get an adequate PG (Barry, Fisher) in FA.

Far from it. They're definitely talented, but tmac, yao and juwan howard are all passive players. Van gundy will scream bloody murder at them and alienate them further. I bet they're the biggest underachiever in the league next year. I predict a first round upset in the playoffs. Don't forget Yao played all last summer, all last season, all this summer and next season as well...he plays more minutes per year than any other player in the league. That has to take a toll. And they just traded away his back up.

I agree with you, though I think thats where Derek Fisher ends up for the MLE with Charlie Ward signing for the LLE and Tyron Lue opting out tomorrow and going somewhere altogether else.

Phil Jackson is their coach after next season if they display some talent and hope of success...

that's an intriguing concept. i hadn't thought of that...add in the fact that he and van gundy don't like each and it just compunds the storyline. i definitely think phil will be back. he's gotta beat red auerbach for most wins, because that record will stick for a century or more...and you're right, tmac and yao gives him his two superstars (though their passivity that i mentioned earlier could be an issue)

I think JVG is the type of coach for passive players. It'll be interesting to see how TMac and Yao interact.

this one is really good ! =)

I agree, this team is strong and will make some sweat, but they have no PG, a fake bench... they still need time to reach it.

mcgrady is a heck of an *******. "i want to go to houston only". this guy is no kobe. didn't try to put the team on his back (lol) to make it win. Hope he don't succeed in getting a ring that way.

i'm sick and tired of this mercenary approach. Why don't all the stars regroup in 2 teams so that they could have one chance out of 2 to win ?

other thing about the magic. How can you sign a trade like this one ?

we hear people whinning and crying about how our organization is bad, but hey, loock at the magic. in only a few yrs they've succeeded on letting go oneal for nothing and trading macgrady under pressure for what will be soon remembered as a very very bad deal.

how could they do that ?

i like to see t-mac take the same point cut like da franchise did. gundy got a real mission, lets see how it develops. otherwise, i agree except rockets get grounded from playoffs

Thing is this. Rockets got better (Or could have) with the addition of T-Mac, but they don't have a PG, unless they want T-Mac controlling it, and they don't have much else talent, next to him and Yao. The Lakers were able to win b/c they had the perfect set of role players to compliment Kobe and Shaq. The Pistons won b/c they had a lot of talent that was able to play great together. The Rockets need other pieces. Does anyone remember how they gave up Sam Cassell, way back, by the way? He'd be good for that team.

they're not quite there, but with yao set to become a force very soon, they'll still be dangerous.

will they get home court ?

minesotta, sactown and the spurs should remain.

lakers and mavs are question.

denver should improve as well as Utah (yeah, laugh, but with some help and matt harpring to come back, they'll sting badly).

Rockets can move to get homecourt but without a pg, they won't go anywhere.
