As reported by the New York Post, Orlando Sanchez has left the Westchester Knicks and he's evalutating an offer from Puerto Rico. The decision to leave D-League is for financial reasons. The Puerto Rican team that made the offer to Sanchez is Piratas de Quebradillas, according to sources.

Interesting that he hasn't signed there yet. I wonder if he has the possibility of an nba deal or is trying to push for one before he commits. Andre Emmett is in a similar situation. He left the d l and I believe he thought the Clips would sign him. He is supposed to have an overseas deal in place.

And we still have an open roster spot we're not using.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

He has looked good when I watch him but he is averaging 9 and 6 in Westchester. Not sure that is worth a call up. He may just need money. I believe he is 26.

honestly, I think his skills would be more NBA ready than Galloway for the Knicks

With this empty roster spot and how he is showed he would be a great fit, it is a slap in the face but Phil Jackson is looking to save money and have longer minimum salaries as the end of these couple weeks = 1year of service (which is great for a *rookie, especially at his age so next seasons he would qualify to make more*
problem is there are so many rotational BIGS in this league, though not many with his all round skill sets

I don't know if Phil Jackson values what he brings or if he thinks he can be easily replaced but there are not many PF's of his skill sets that could play outside, inside, post, past, handle the ball, and high IQ
So instead of having him for one extra year, would Phil Jackson cave in and bring him in with as little as possible guaranteed for next season and the seasons following, a deal similar to Galloway but with even less guaranteed

Also have a talk with him to allow him to understand it isn't about him, who has done EVERYTHING to showcase his skills in the D League
As President of Operations, Phil Jackson needs to let him undestand that he must keep payroll down in order to bring in more talent in order to compete, and that he values his hard work and skills
So not giving him the guranteed money isn't about him, it is about being able to save payroll for the following years

It was reported he left a month ago for a deal in Puerto Rico. Not sure what is going on but he hasn't signed yet according to these reports.

He is probably putting pressure on Phil Jackson to make a decision on him, with Sanchez wanting a contract similar to Galloway
If a team brings him up and finishes this season, it counts as an entire ROOKIE YEAR, meaning his salary would jump from 500k to right under 1m next season, that is a HUGE difference especially considering Sanchez is older and will likely have 1 chance to have a decent contract before he physically declines...

This guy is very comparable to the skills of Jared Sullinger, with a bit of Frye/AB's strengths as well
He would be our best PF, over AB on this team right now, with the skills to play off the ball and with the ball to initiate the OFFENSE in the Triangle with the 2nd unit next year
IF he joins a team strong enough, he could be a spot starter if needed at times, this guy can play
