In his short time playing D-League ball, Westchester Knicks' big man Jordan Bachynski is already drawing NBA-like comparisons.

Though he only joined the Westchester Knicks mere weeks ago, there's no way anyone tuning into a D-League game could possibly miss Jordan Bachynski. At 7'2" and 260 pounds, the 25 year old has the eye-popping type of size and stature not normally known to those around the minor league.

Should a big man of that sort be talented enough, he normally ends up in The Association sooner, rather than later.

Nevertheless, the towering force from Arizona State has been strutting his stuff for Westchester ever since coming to town following a short stint overseas.

After averaging an astonishing 4.03 blocks per contest during his senior year, Bachynski was a bonafide NBA prospect heading into last summer's draft. Though he wasn't selected, Bachynski's 2.6 block per game average over his four-year collegiate career garners some consideration and should raise even more intrigue.

"[Defensively], he reminds me of Joel Przybilla," one NBA scout recently told RidiculousUpside.com. "He has great awareness and knows how to use his body. Plenty of teams could use a guy like that."

The scout went on to add that such awareness gives Bachynski immediate NBA shot-blocking ability. Przybilla, of course, started 397 out of 592 games over a career spanning thirteen NBA seasons. Though he only averaged 3.9 points and 6.2 rebounds, the big man also posted 1.4 blocks in under twenty minutes per contest.

Above all else, he undeniably had staying power in the NBA, which is something all aspiring prospects in the D-League hope to establish. Players with such defensive prowess certainly have the chance to create a niche for themselves in The Association.

Needless to say, the opportunity is there for Bachynski, who is already averaging 5.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and even 1.1 blocks in just 14.1 minutes per contest for Westchester.
