IMHO, at the end of the day--he will have more opportunity to make this club than ariza or johnson. I guess he will be working with kareem 1-1. Chan can play and at 7-1 265, hes going to get first opportunity.

Isiah did say that he was going to use unconventional ways to improve our ball club, and he is proving that by his action so far. I am one who always believe that the next MJ could be out there somewhere waiting to be noticed. He doesn't have to come from the college ranks or a high-schooler with a lot of props like Lebron. Here is a question for you, have you seen this dude Chan play before? and, is he Asian or something????

Senior center Ales Chan led the way for Seton Hill in 2003-04 as a 1st Team All-AMC selection and Honorable Mention All-American. Chan averaged 17 points and 10.4 rebounds per game, good for seventh place and fourth place respectively in the AMC.

Here is the article...

He'll probably get some lucrative offers from Europe if he doesnt make the team.

if IT can clear up some roster space- not a bad looking player to have and try to develop at the end of your bench

for all the complaints that IT receives about him wanting to be the center of attention, he was the one that called to get Chan to come to the summer league, unlike phoenix who had an assistant director of player personel.

He's Czech btw, and played uneventfully for West Virginia before he went to this small NAIA school.

I'm suprised nobody picked him up in the 2nd round... he's got very solid numbers and 4 blocks a game tells you he can move pretty well. Whats the story?

I read an article about him on draftcity.com but I can't find the article. I was hoping we drafted him in the 2nd rd. I also read that he outplayed Peter John Ramos when they worked out vs each other.

He probably didn't get drafted because the school he played for was to small a name. And the competition wasn't good. He does have a lot of drive though from what I hear about him and with a lot of hard work might be able to make something of himself in the league.

Its good the team is willing to spend some money on bringing these kids in for a look.

If for non selfish reasons, it helps the game and the kids to get more opportunity to be exposed.

Dude prolly thought he was going to Seton HALL!

15% male, 85% female ratio? I want to go back to school!

This could be a great story, the next Lampe! Go Chan!

Ales Chan? Ariza? Herve?

Where do they find these people?

Sign them all and lets get the season started. Knicks will be the first to win a championship with rookies no one ever heard of.

That will teach them all to curse the fact Isiah traded the pick in the Marbury trade. Isiah said he did his homework and he darn sure did. Is it possible to get 4 sleepers (Barrett?)out of the same draft?

Go Isiah!

I am not sure if you are being sarcastic or what - but someone on here has to be the voice of reason. You bring up a good point in your post - is it possible to get 4 sleepers from the same draft...the answer is as always nothing is impossible. However, it is highly unlikely that any of these players will pan out.

Think of how many players join the league every year that we rarely or never hear about again. I would love one of these guys to turn into a decent role player or starter but the odds are stacked against them.

Isiah has a good eye for talent though, so lets see what happens. Just because they are playing in summer league doesnt gurantee they will be any good, let alone make the roster and get PT.
