This guy is gonna be an FA I believe and we could probably get him for a reasonable price. There's a lot of talk about Chris Andersen here, but Foyle is a more established shotblocker. Here's a guy who has been over 2 bpg 3 times in his career despite not playing more than 25.1 mpg over the course of a season. He's gotten something like a block every 10 minutes since he's been the league. He also can board a little and is still under 30? If Doleac doesnt take the LLE why not this guy? He'll probably come cheaper than Andersen and would provide the defensive presence Mutumbo did off the bench last year without the lack of mobility.

This is why I wanted to move Nazr and Deke for a couple of low #1s or something like that. Its possible we could sign and combo of Mihm, Foyal and Doleac.

We will see, I'm sure Isiah has a plan, even if its not for this year.

Foyle doesn't do it for me to tell u the truth...i'd rather have an athletic guy like Chris Anderson who can run the floor & finish & be that X-factor type player we haven't had since Camby left.

fishmike, I agree...we could easily go with some kind of 3 headed center attack. When you think about Foyle, Nazr and Doleac, they all kind of do different things and could be used situationally. Mihm would also be cool...he showed some improvement as far as effort, attitude and rebounding this past year. He has a nice touch and might be someone to watch.

TMS, I agree Andersen is more athletic and he's obviously younger, but he's still pretty unproven and will likely get a larger contract. I think Foyle is a pretty good alternative and would be a nice defensive presence here.

it sounds like GS is going to re-sign Foyle--giving him the starting job for 3 years 15mm--i dont see to many teams offering much more in the way of $$$$$

for the knicks IF we are even able to spend I think it would go

Dampier #1
Mihm #2 hes better than Doleac--he might cost a tad more but hes worth it
Doleac #3

Where did you read that? I like Foyle, but why in the world would you give him that much?

This why so much depends on Sweetney's development. The question is is a core of Houston, Marbury, Sweetney and Tim Thomas good enough to surround with good role players and have a solid team, or is the problem with the core?

we all should know by know that centers get the benefit of the doubt and atleast would get the midlevel exception. If there is any chance that we sign this guy, we are most likely to have to offer him the full midlevel exception unless he has a desire to play here in N.Y. to begin with. But money is money, if we dont take a shot at this guy im sure someone else would cause centers are RARE.

Kandi,Mutumbo,Jerome James,Mclvain,Booth, are some of the centers that recieved the mid level exception in the past years. I personally think besides kandi(although he was a bust this year, he had the numbers the previous years of his careers) foyle is better choice than any of these guys.

I know I would rather have Dampier but if we cant ill be satisfied with Foyle.

Im interested in Chris Anderson "da bird" but hes a very athletic skinny 4 with no offensive skils.

I think we need defense and shot blocking very badly in the 4 and 5.
if I had it my way, i would like dampier and swift but thats a complete .000000000000009% chance

we can always work around it and do a poor mans version with players like

Foyle,Keon Clark, Anderson, Camby,

Mihm has decent defense, decent shot blocking, and decent shot but i think i still rather have doleac(assuming thomas gets traded) because chemistry is something we cant create and doleac certainly had it with marbary.

I hear about tha....Foyle is an interesting option....Also a banger, and from his stats a better shotblocker....he's an inch shorter and seems a year younger....

Foyle (on insider Ford says he can be had for half the MLE)
Sweetney
TT
Houston
Marbury

looks real good to me

2. What is your favorite NBA city to visit and why?
[Adonal]Vancouver was definitely one of my favorite cities because it is truly a beautiful city. But I think now that it is out of the league, New York has replaced it, because it has what you call high culture. They have one of the best theatre districts in the world. And more than that, it’s the city that never sleeps. It’s almost like you’re in a different planet all together. You can never be bored in New York.

Jacob in San Francisco, CA asks...
When you were in college what was your favorite NBA team and did you think you would ever play in the NBA?
[Adonal] I never thought I would be good enough to make it to the NBA. I loved watching the Lakers and New York Knicks.

If we cant sign dampier, He would probably be the best legit center we can land....

is Foyle really THAT much better an option than Dikembe even?

what does he bring to the table that this team needs that they don't have already? Deke can block shots also...we need a guy who can get up & down the floor, finish on the breaks, & be that energetic presence they need...this team gets way too lackadaisical during too many stretches...they need that X-factor who the other guys can feed off of...Adonal Foyle just isn't that type of player in my eyes.

Don't underestimate the presence that a shotblocker brings. We played some, if not most of our best basketball games all year when Dikembe was having good games. What Foyle brings over Dikembe at this point is youth and more mobility, which were Deke's two achilles heels. Deke couldnt guard anyone one on one anymore, and I believe Foyle can.

Did anyone see how bad Foyle was when he was even playing last season? Offer him the full LLE. If he takes it, great. But don't use one dime from the MLE on him

I would sign Chris Andersen (offer $3 million a year for 4 years) and Mike Doleac (LLE).

Then offer Kurt to Chicago in a sign and trade for Jamal. They'd do it.

Marbs/Frank
Jamal/H20
TT/Penny/Ariza
Sweets/Andersen
Nazr/Doleac

SOLD!

Wasn't he injured/coming off of injury? That's why I figured we could get him for cheap. Still he only got 13 mins per in the games he played b/c Dampier was finally having a good season, and he still got more than a block a game. He should be fully healthy and ready to this year.

Chris Anderson blocks shots too, btw...& he brings those other intangibles that Foyle doesn't have...even a Keon Clark can fit the role imo, as long as he stays healthy that is...this team already has guys who can body up on guys in the low post...they are missing the high energy type guys i'm talking about...no more Vin Baker's coming off the bench only to slow down the team even further...we need more team speed & athleticism, period.

His body was breaking down last year; so therefore he should be fully healthy this year? You're right injuries contributed to his poor play last year. He was a 3 pt/4 rb player last year when he's usually a 4/5 player. He'd be a steal for the LLE, but he's not worth a dime of the MLE
