...if Stephen A Smith had a heart attack and died during the draft. This guy is a walking, talking hate crime. Does ESPN put him up to the whole shuckin n jivin step'n'fetchit thing, or did he just grow up listening to a lot of Amos'n'Andy?

Don't get chico started. Who cares if he thinks someone set race relations back five decades. Five decades ago schools were segregated. Do you really think Stephen Smith set relations back so bad that blacks or just as bad off as they were when there was segregration? Or do you think chico is a moron who needs to read a history textbook?

since you're obviously just ignorant and race is a touchy subject, i won't respond to your personal attack, but seeing as stephen a smith clearly models his entire schtick after black stereotypes from fifty years and earlier (step n fetchit, amos n andy, mantan morley, lil sambo etc.) he's an absolute offense to watch. Whats so outrageous is that ESPN hired him in an attempt to reach out to the hip hop audience. I'm latin, so I can't say I'm offended, but bar none, all of my black friends are really offended by his schtick. Several have written both him and ESPN. Go see Spike Lee's Bamboozled. Go on ebay and type in sambo. I'm just surprised this guy doesn't come out with ribbons in his hair like Farina from the Lil Rascals.

It is totally forgivable for mantan, stepin, amos, andy, buckwheat and others because they had no choice. they had to shuck and jive in that environment, but for Stephen A Smith to do it, even if he's trying some sort of post modern commentary, it doesn't work. thats why its offensive, and to the people in utah who won't even watch black guys play basketball, what do you think they think when they see this guy practically walking around in a chicken suit?

who cares how he wants to act. thats a personal decision. he isnt promoting nething racial and isnt trying to offend anyone.

if you compare the dumb blonde stereotype to the coon stereotype then you don't have any idea about anything and talking to you is like talking to a broken brick. hundreds of millions of dumb blondes weren't enslaved, dragged over here against their will, treated to subhuman conditions, legally considered 3/5ths of a person, lynched, segregated, mutilated, murdered, lied to, imprisoned and institutionally treated as second class citizens as the foundation of our country. you sir, are a dumb ass. a real and true dumb ass.

First of all...I AM a dumbass, and I admit to that. (Proud of it BTW)

Second of all, it shouldn't matter how S.A.S. acts. He can choose to act however the hell he wants to. You seem to be all about defending racial equality, which is great, but one man's personality should not bring in the whole history of slavery and mistreatment of blacks.
Unless he tries to draw everyone back to the cotton fields or something, there is nothing wrong with his behavior.
