earlier today i paraphrased the gist of a daily news article i used "fag" deragatorily in a reference to yellow bellied tim thomas. gay people in general have dealt with a lot of shot for no reason. i'm sorry. When I think about the fact that the lynchings of blacks (recently james bird) and gays (recently matthew shepard) come from the same exact senseless ignorance, i'd like to apologize for my thoughtless wordings.

sorry i forgot to finish my thought...anyway, when i read it in another post it struck me as thoughtless and hateful as if i'd used nigger or some other derogatory hate speech. I think the homophobia in sports today is just as senseless and idiotic as the racism that dominated sports for most of the last century. while there's still racism, its nowhere near as overt or dominating as it once was...

It shows the difference that one letter can make. If you had called him a "fug" (short for fugazi) there wouldn't have been a problem.
