Will you be happy only if Isiah builds together a team that eventually wins a championship or would you still be happy if he puts together some very strong teams that always competed for a championship like the Knicks in the 90s and at least gave us some fantastic basketball series to watch? I take the latter view. I definitely want the Knicks to win a championship, but I won't view it as a failure if Isiah builds the Knicks into a 55 win team that competes for the championship but has the same success as the Knicks of the 90s.

Every teams goal is eventually going to be a championship. But now for NY, it's just a matter of playing above .500 basketball. You can't consider it a failure if they win 50+ games.

If Isiah can take a 37 win team, and bring it up to a 55 win team, then he's definately on the right path for a championship. And without a certain guy named Mike around, I think these knicks may have a better chance.

very few teams win championships. all you can ask for is the ability to compete at that level and hopefully things go right and you can win one. as long as you're in the hunt, we should be happy b/c the stars have to align perfectly, like it did with detroit, if you're able to win it all.

We have to take it one step at a time, and being competetive would definitely make me happy, but the ultimate goal is always a title. Why aim low?

I want a Championship but the problem is our owner doesn't care about championship. He just wants to make the playoffs and maybe get to 2nd round. Dolan doesn't know what the fans want cause he's not a fan.

who t f knows what this team is, i dont think isiah knows. lets just pray that we dont have malik rose arron mckie et al on the roster as of 8PM. if we do, i know what direction this team is going in and thats not championship caliber. when you star filling up the roster with long term commitments from 2nd rate players you arent going anywhere for years.

I agree with Briggs. I want nothing to do with Rose and McKie:

With this being said, I understand that building championship teams take a lot of time, and I am going to be patient with that. If we continue to make progress each year, then I'll be happy. If we are championship calibre in 3 years or so, then I'll be happy. But the fact is, I want a championship badly. I've been a Knick fan about as long as I've been a Yankee fan, which was since about '92, '93. As a result, a Knicks championship would be 10X sweeter, than watching the Yanks win in '96 and trust me, that was amazing. Sometimes I can just taste it, yet sometimes, it just looks so far away.

I agree. Here is the thing: 55 wins is good but I will not be satisfied. Like TMS said,
i've already been there & done that w/the competing & not being good enough to win it all
I cannot be satisfied with 55 wins. The only thing that can be satisfy me is once again a TMS quote "a parade in the Canyon of Heroes for the Knicks"
55 wins, Eastern conference 2nd round exit, NOT satisfactory. Not at all a bad year but does not make me smile.
