reports out of charlotte radio is saying the bobcats will draft aaron mckie from philly (along with picks) and then trade him to the knicks for deke and othella.

if this is true, then isiah is out of his mind. BUT i'm speculating that isiah only does this if we get philly's #9 pick. if that's the case, then it's deke + othella for the #9 with mckie being the throw-in which isn't too shabby. that means isiah sees someone he wants and bringing in mckie, for a god awful 6 year deal, is only something the knicks can get away with b/c of dolan.

I really don't want McKie unless Philly is doing something to sweeten the deal

I'd MUCH MUCH rather have Lorenzen Wright or Danny Fortson. Unless the Knicks have plans to get rid of Shandon Anderson, why add ANOTHER shooting guard. That makes it 4: Houston, Penny, Anderson, McKie. Obviously some will spend time at SF, but it doesn't make sense. They need a C badly, I'd think Wright makes much more sense than McKie.

McKie's under contract until he's like 36-37. damn right they better sweeten the deal. at least the #9 pick.
dispite the fact that they want childress, i hear their trying to get vinsanity in xchange for AI. they do that and, flock childress!

Lorenzen Wright would be okay (though nothing worth celebrating). Chubby Fortson makes me want to barf

the Sixers won't be giving up any lottery picks in that deal to the Knicks...like i said in another thread though, IF Isiah has succeeded in unloading Shandon someplace, then i can accept this trade.

Any trade getting Deke and Othello out and a pretty good player in is worth it imo.

why add ANOTHER shooting guard. That makes it 4: Houston, Penny, Anderson, McKie.

1) Shandons a bum as we all know and would prefer to bench him.
2) Penny plays at the 3 for the majority of the time behind TT.
3) Houston's knees may be a problem...and going back to #1...who would you rather get minutes (either as starter if H20 is out, or as backup) Mckie or Shandon?

if the avenue that you want to travel is by trading for 32 year old ball players who will clog your payroll for 4 more years until he is 36--sorry but its a dumb mistake. We already fcd up by just not letting weatherspoon walk for nothing--instead we took back moochie for how many years + 3mm. yeah we need insurance for h20 but couldnt we use the LLE for that?

we couldn't let spooon walk for nothing, spoon still had years on his contract, that we would have to pay regardless, so I don't see your point there.. As far as this trade this is a BS trade by Zeke, why not take a Q woods or patterson instead of Mckie and his huge deal, this is absolute frigging garbage, I have always backed zeke's moves so far, but if we don't get a pick out of this then I am not liking it at all...

I have to agree with everyone who doesn't like this deal. I just don't see what is the point of adding a ton of salary for a bench player who probably won't even get that much playing time. Even if Houston is injured you still have Frankie and Penny who can play in the backcourt. This is a Scott Layden move and I really don't like it unless its part of a bigger deal of some type.

if we let weatherspoon walk, it wouldve saved the club 3mm dollars because that was the difference in contracts. that point is mute anyway signing aaron mckie for 4 years is the EQUIVILANT of what we did when we signed weatherspoon but just a different position. Mckie is on the way down hes 32 and now he will be ours at a BIG cost- until hes near 37. we have so much long term capital spent on medicore players i just cant believe wed do this. I can think of 50 things id rather do than this move.

dude, the difference in contracts was 1.2 million as i pointed out in another thread...why do you keep harping on that 3 million figure? are you concentrating on the luxury tax? even if you take that into account, the figure is 2.4 million...symantics i know, but let's at least be accurate.

I agree to whomever said we should get Patterson instead. Patterson is a younger, more durable player who is probably a better defender. Although his jumper isnt as reliable he can still score and provides the same kind of energy/spark off the bench. I don't see how adding McKie, who's old and always has nagging injuries, gives us any insurance for Houston. We're better off playing Penny and Shandon.

I know McKie is tough and all- but to back up Houston I'd much rather us dig up Matt Carroll!

Please- some young undrafted athletic player for very little money with an actual potential to become the next McKie- we're always getting players past their prime, rather than entering their prime.
