it sounds like he doesnt even care about the draft at all.

he said he did a quick assessment and there were no superstars in his opinion.

im sorry but you CANT do a quick assessment of a draft that includes a huge body of work from multiples of players, bodies of work that extend overseas. it also said the knicks were still trying to get some players to workout--they have only worked out their minimum requirement of 5.

Im going to take a leap here and say this pick is gone after Tuesdays expansion draft.

it has got to be a smoke screen... if IT doesnt get into the draft, could be a big mistake. every draft has a couple of superstars... IT is making a mistake.

Mitch Lawrence in The Daily News also said that several NBA contacts have told him that Isiah is targeting JR Smith and may try to move into the mid 1st round for him.

List of who we worked out

Andre Barrett (Seton Hall)
Tony Bobbitt (Cincinnati)
Brian Boddicker (Texas)
Andre Brown (DePaul)
Travon Bryant (Missouri)
Lionel Chalmers (Xavier (OH)
Justin Davis (Stanford)
Marcus Douthit (Providence)
Andre Emmett (Texas Tech)
Desmon Farmer (USC)
Luis Flores (Manhattan)
David Hawkins (Temple)
Terrence Hill (Kennesaw State)
Rolando Howell (South Carolina)
George Leach (Indiana)
Bryant Matthews (Virginia Tech)
Ricky Minard (Morehead State)
Marcus Moore (Washington State)
Tim Pickett (Florida State)
Darius Rice (Miami (FL)
Bernard Robinson, Jr. (Michigan)
Cleiton Sebastiao (Brazil)
Jamar Smith (Maryland)
Jackson Vroman (Iowa State)
Mike Williams (Western Michigan)
Nate Williams (Georgia State)
Terrence Woods (Florida A&M)
Rashad Wright (Georgia)

The Knicks assistant coach also coached I think 3 teams at Chicago.

I wouldn't mind moveing up in the 2nd rd for Ales Chan 7'2 center who went toe to toe with David Harrison. And had the upper hand on Peter John Ramos. Until the draft is over we don't know whats going down.

Dissapointed that Herve Lamizana is not on that list. Doesn't make sense that we didnt work him out because he is a long, athletic player which is what we are looking for. He is also local and it would've been easy to get him here for a work out.

The one really interesting name on that list is Cleiton Sebastio. He's a huge Brazillian guy (6'11 270) and an old project (already 25). But he is very strong. Check out the profile...

I don't think working out like 30 guys is an overview.

Getting Smith would be great, a local kid with the potential to be awesome.

Don't forget, Isiah drafted McGrday out of HS too.

yea and they are usually picked between 1-10.... there is no way we are trading up that high...

the times and Daily news have conflicting reports. THe Daily News said he is interested in moving up to get smith, and the times basically said he is not interested in the draft..

steve popper is the only guy that reports w/o an agenda.

the news and post are the WORST papers in ny.

we will find out draft night what isiah's plans are concerning this draft. we still have a 2nd round pick and there are opportunities to move up BUT if he does nothing except use that pick or trade it to charlotte for a player they draft for us, then i wouldn't be upset about it.

i'm one of the few that believe keeping this EXACT team together healthy from training camp makes us a potentially 45-50 win team which is a HUGE step forward from last season. so anything he adds is just gravy.
