Let this prove to you that players and agents aren't as smart as you think. Why would they sign this kid? They have zero use for a point guard. Why would Cotton sign here with Burke and that Australian kid?

can't blame Phil for not going after these guys. There are 29 other teams and other teams that could use a young point guard.

There's also that d league hall of famer Seth Curry still messing around in Erie

Kid's just looking for a callup, a better paycheck and hopefully a steady NBA gig. Should've happened weeks ago. This was my number 1 DL target. Oh well...Yeah the move to Utah's a curious one--can't blame Cotton but yeah, what does Utah want with him? Like you said they have Burke, Exum and even Ian Clark (a guy I like better than Galloway). I don't see him playing much there. I love how these teams call up players and then don't play them (JaMychal Green in Memphis, Utah with Elliot Williams). To me, we're in prime position to call up some of the better DL talent and actually PLAY THEM. That's what I thought could've make us an attractive spot for some of these guys. Looks like Phil hasn't been selling NY in that way...Cotton makes little sense for Utah on paper but hey, congrats to him. Well deserved..

Like what Finestrg said. Being able to play against NBA competition, and show off for other teams, is probably more valuable to these guys than playing in the D-League. Also, and at least as important, players make much, much more money in the NBA than the D-League. The money that D-League players make puts them below the federal poverty level. I belive, though I'm not sure, that they'll make more money on a 10-day contract in the NBA than they would in a full year in the D-League.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come
