Orlando Sanchez is still on the team? Thought he signed a deal to play in Puerto Rico.

Not sure if Thanasis is there. He isn't on the court and I haven't seen him on the bench.

I read that too, was confused maybe it is AFTER the D League ends?

I really like Orlando Sanchez, hope another team doesn't pick him up before we do for next season
Ben Strong has been looking very good as well

Lets not forget how much many of us liked Backnaski, especially BRIGGS, though he hasn't done much in the D League thus far with limited PT
Backnasski was one of the leading shot blocking Center in NCAA and was undrafted
I remember Lamb was a very good shooter when he got minutes on Atlanta/Bucks/Orlando, with some post up ability but stands at 6-4

I would need 3year contracts on all 3 of these players, we already got in done with Galloway, with team option on 3rd
I certainly think both Thanasis and Orlando Sanchez, with Galloway are going to be good players for us moving forward
I have said I was impressed of all 3 of them on our Summer League/Practice squad, as they are all high IQ, skilled players, and FIT in with the system, most importantly will be CHEAP, leaving us room to fill other players

Sanchez is very skilled, could pass for a BIG, could shoot 3's, post up, finish inside, decent dribble, and easily beat his man off the dribble if a PF tried to go out to contest hit shot
I think all 3 of these guys can be like having late 1st rounders/early 2nd rounders and continue to impress
In fact I think Sanchez is the safest player of the 3 to perform with his skill set

Thanasis is greatly improved hit shooting ability already and he has that chip on his shoulder, being compared to his younger brother but lacking the size/length/athleticism that his Giannes has
However, he is REALLY TOUGH, strong, and still a very good NBA body at G/F, he is the old school type SG/SF that the 90's Knick's resembled

I really liked Giannes at his draft, I knew he was going to need time to fill in but had a TOP 3 potential that was being projected in the mid round, I was hoping we would have made a move to acquire him in a trade, however, we used a 1st rounder and 2 2nd rounders to acquire AB instead

Tim Hardaway JR was a very bad pick by the NYK's, it just did not make sense, SG was the only position we had filled, and literally EVERY OTHER position we needed upgrades in or future replacements that were NOT young
Plumlee was drafted one pick before us and Gobert was drafted way after us in the same draft

While we already had Iman and JR Smith at SG already *though he was a FA while we had his early bird rights and we later found out that we knew he needed surgery

Maybe Thanasis is hurt, he was hit prety hard in the face/eye in the last game

I hope we do not recall him up this season in the best interest of the NYK's, so we have him on a cheap contract for more years as the rest of this season would count as an entire year
With the work ethic he has and his already NBA body, his improvement in the 3pt shot/shooting ability, teams will have interest in him and offer him a lucrative deal when he becomes a RFA
And it could put us in a position, similar to Lin, especially if Thanasis becomes a lock down defender 1v1 and/or a good team/help defender that has the ability to rebound/block shots/steals and initate/finish on fast breaks

What would make him really good is if he can HARRASS opponents PG's with his length/athleticism while NOT getting in foul trouble, similar to how Iman was utilized at times prior to his knee injury as a rookie....

^^^Agree about Lamb. Also Bachynski is huge. He looks like a guy that with a little seasoning could be a rotational big for the Knicks. I like the new guys. Also, Strong always plays well when I watch.

Ron, a great guy to follow on twitter is Chris Reichert. He writes for a site called Road to the Association. It is the best d l site I have come across. I stopped watching the game after the first half but he just tweeted that Strong had 17 boards and 2 blocks. Lamb had 29 and didn't hit a three.

His agent denied the report immediately after it was made.

I really liked Lamb's game. He was able to drive and attack the basket. He looks like an NBA player IMO. Don't know who this Gilder kid is, but he also showed some ability. Sanchez had some good moments. I'd like to see him get a little stronger and more aggressive.

Bachinski needs to improve his strength. He wasn't able to fight for rebounds as well as I expected. He also seemed to get pushed around when trying to post up and when he made moves. Love his size but he really needs to bulk up IMO.
