I'd rather take my chances in free agency than throw a 2018 first rounder at Phoenix. What do you guys think?

dragic is a very good player and would fit beyond perfectly into the triangle. he can shoot the 3, he can penetrate the lane, is a ball-mover, not an oustanding defensive player, but can definitely hold his own - love the way he plays. i wouldn't offer our lotto pick for him, but if we were able to get another 1st to offer up for him, i certainly would do it. he's a player.

I predict the rockets trade the Pelicans 1st rounder for Dragic

of course we would not do this. If he is available then we can think about signing him in the offseason.

to give up a 1st and then pay him would be reckless and old knicks style.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Yeah, it looks like that pick is going to turn in a low lottery selection this year.

Excellent for Houston. I don't want Dragic in NY. I want Russell; either Russell Westbrook or d'angelo Russell
Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

On the plus side, it makes Patrick Beverly more available in the offseason.

Phoenix has no clue what they are doing. I say ignore then entirely. Aside from dragic they have Bledsoe and Thomas, plus that kid from Syracuse Tyler ennis. Fuck those guys... we should trade them Melo for dragic and all their assets, dumb mofos

I like Dragic but only as a FA where we don't have to give a pick. He's not young anymore and I think we need to target younger players.

What if top 8 protection was placed on the pick?

Then the Knicks would obviously not be involved in that trade.

Looks like the Lakers are going to be sky rocketing every players salary with their idiocy!:

The Houston Rockets are hoping to engage the Phoenix Suns on a trade for Goran Dragic.

If the Rockets are unable to trade for Dragic before the deadline, they plan on pursuing him in free agency. Dragic was let go by the Rockets in the 2012 free agency.

The Los Angeles Lakers also plan on testing the Suns' resolve. Sources say the Lakers plan on offering Dragic a four-year, $80 million max contract this summer.

The Suns' general stance in recent weeks and months has been to rebuff all trade interest in Dragic. But the Suns have also been attempting to gauge their chances of re-signing Dragic in the offseason.

Eric Bledsoe was re-signed last offseason on a five-year, $70 million contract, while they also have Isaiah Thomas on a three-year, $27 million deal.

If they get desperate, they may start throwing max money at 2nd tier players, driving their prices up.

If we are going for a borderline Allstar PG which I doubt I want Brandon Knight because he defends and won't cost as much

Knicks have to ignore such a tactic. They can't ruin their remaining cap trying to outmatch LA. Knicks need to shop according to their own value list. IF a guy wants more than we have him priced at then so long.

the cap space is there to get quality players, which he is, i mean you had him on your list of FA, now phil should ignore him.

Were a 10 win team, not some playoff contender, we are going to have to overpay for tanking, you can't have the best of both worlds

If he gets traded, hes a guy who will be off the table in all likelihood. He may ask too much of which we cant afford to pay anyway.

well giving up the first round pick also buys you dragic's bird's rights as well.
