We were debating about this player on my nba group page - how do folks feel about DeAndre Jordan? A physical center known for his emphatic dunks, rebounds and inside presence. With blake griffin out he will put up more numbers (for example 22 pts 27 rebs).

Positives - dunks, shot blocking, rebounds
Negatives - no offensive game, foul shooting, foul trouble

Overall - a 26 yr old center in his prime who rarely misses games. A defensive presence with limited offensive skills. He's a bigger and stronger version of tyson in his prime. Will probably cost 12-16 mill range.

Would you sign him on the knicks next yr?

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I would say no.

I hate players like deandre because there is no excuse for him not to get better. He is physically dominant against every person he faces including Dwight Howard and cousins. It's an absolute Shame that he can't learn to make basic basketball moves. Like a layup or a simple dropstep, baby hook. Mid range jumper. Hit at least 2/3rd of his free throws. Basic rec league ****.

If he could do the things i mentioned, just the basics.... he would be well worth a max contact.

It depends on the price. He would replace what we lost after the Tyson trade, and we're seeing how critical that is. It would have to be below the max but I'd definitely be willing to give him 4 years at 11 mil per. That probably wouldn't be enough though.

Don't think Jackson would give him a second look. He's a liability at certain points in a game.

As EnySpree indicated, he has not improved his game, and, given his pure physical ability, this is a shame.

You would have to surround him with an All-Star quality cast to cover up his deficiencies.

He would want Max dollars from a rebuilding team like ours... and he is not worth that kind of money, IMO.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

I doubt DeAndre Jordan would fit the specifications to what makes the triangle work. He is a tyson chandler type. Great pick and roll and rim defender.

Good player, certainly an upgrade but not for us.
