If we get the no.1 pick and keep it, we have to go Okafor. And if we go Okafor, can we survive two defensive sieves in the lineup? Its why I prefer to move Melo and try to maintain the worse record in the league. All I'd need is Nikola Mirotic and Doug McDermott with Derrick Rose sprinkled in to balance the contracts. Hopefully, we could get Rose's numbers up and peddle him off to a team like the Pacers for George Hill and contracts. Hill looks like he'd be a great fit in the triangle while Mirotic and McDermott are starters in this league at positions that won't be available in the draft with a top 3 pick.
He has a no trade clause, as everyone know, and i doubt would go there at this point. I wouldn't want to trade him anyways, unless its for Butler. We don't need to jumpstart a rebuild. We don't have a 2016 pick and trading Melo hurts the free agent hunt in 2015 and 2016. Trading him would not help this team one bit at this time. Not the time to rebuild this way. We are getting a top pick this season regardless and need to be improved next year in order to not lose another top pick. I can't believe the trade Melo stuff is still coming up. Obviously he's not going anywhere, and not only that but it hurts this teams significantly over the next 2 seasons for reasons i stated above.
His documentary would say otherwise. Seems the only reason he picked the Knicks is because of the money factor and now that it is guaranteed, it should make the Bulls even more appealing to him.
And it seems that it is never the time to rebuild for some Knick fans. I honestly don't know what we're waiting on. Anthony, at this point, will not be getting better with age; he'll be getting worse. The likelihood that we'll find the talent to offset this decline and form a contender is slim to none. I much rather cut the cord while Anthony has some trade value left before his decline becomes more intense.
