I've moved Booker slowly from mid range 15-18 all the way up to top 6 over the last month. As I keep watching him--he looks just like a young Klay Thompson. Thompson is slightly longer(a 1/2 inch taller and 2 additional inches of wingspan) but Booker makes up that small difference with a +3. 5 inch vertical

Booker 6'6.5 206 wingspan 6-7 35 inch vertical
Thompson 6'7 206 wingspan 6-9 31.5 inch vertical

They both can handle the ball and have great range with great accuracy--play smooth fundamental and to their pace.

Heard something on ESPN radio where an analyst was talking about the Calipari rotation system and how he thought Booker would be getting more minutes at the expense of one of the Harrison brothers by end of the year. This might change his status in the draft, especially if Kentucky goes on a run and he emerges as a complete player.

His shooting touch and form really jump out at you from the video. Almost perfect, to be honest.

Do you really think a team like the Knicks would seriously look at him if we dropped down to 4, for instance?

I know that you like bigs, although you've mentioned Russell a great deal.

If its between Russell and Booker, what do you do?

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

Unless Karl towns breaks out in a major way in the last two months I don't see any players who touch Russell and okafor. Booker is like an allanhouston or klay Thompson. Can be highly valuable but doesn't bring the all around talents those guys have. Booker is probably the number 1 pure sg prospect t in this draft

he's alright... he gets alot of wide open looks cause alot of teams like to zone up and/or pack the paint against the kentucky bigs...

klay thompson was a good not great prospect but he gradually improved and added to his game every year... devin will need to do that also if he wants to succeed...

he is no where near russell or stanley johnson or even delon wright... he might get picked up in the lottery but he's not nearly as good as the above perimeter guys...

Hey fist,

The way I'm looking at the game now is the need for 3 point shooting smart guard play team play at least 1 quality pivot with additional rim protection and guys willing to collectively play defense. The NBA has moved to an offensive game first. Also note that some of the great teams right now do not have overwhelming athletic talents more to pure skills. I think what Devin brings is that high skill shooting package I mean high end NBA shooting touch form accuracy and size for the position. On a good team a balanced team you should be able to get good 3s and Booker is going to help a team knock them down in an efficient way. He's also been a good defender played a role on a great team a and has caused no problems. In many ways booker is the MVP of Kentucky either him or ullis.

We all know Thompson is one of the BEST shooters in the entire league

But

What makes him a special player is his ability to defend multiple positions, anywhere from PG, SG, SF, SF/PF like Durant/Lebron etc
He is quite an under rated defender, I think he is one of the best in the league with great all round skills
In addition, he has an extremely high IQ and ability to create for others, in addition to his shot
With all the skills he has, he isn't selfish by any means, even with the green light

He has great size, all round skills, good athleticism, high IQ, good handle, HIGH BB IQ, DEFENSE as a 1v1 defender and as a team defender, could score and facilitate, and like Draymond Green can do EVERYTHING, even block shots for his position, Booker simply doesn't have the size that Klay does have in addition to the speed/quickness/skills/athleticism that make Thompson such a tough cover with his versatility and ability to pull it up anywhere

With Booker's lack of size, it is unlikely that Booker would ever defend at the same level that Klay has become and continues to get better at

Their listed size are almost the same and those are Booker's pre-freshman numbers while Thompson was a Junior when he was measured at the pre-draft combine. I doubt size will be an issue. Skills, technique, willingness, and agility would be more the difference.

make no mistake.. the reason that kentucky is successful is because they have 4 nba big men and the harrison twins being so-so shooters doesn't help things... teams really pack the paint which opens things up for booker who is really the only great shooter they have...

he shoots 4 out of his 7 shots from 3 and makes half of them... if you watch the games he's not creating these open looks for himself..
