There is something else that is just as important, that helped the Pistons win; Timely baskets.

Rip, Chauncey, Rasheed, Prince and even Lindsey Hunter and Corliss Williamson came up with very important baskets throughout the entire series. And I am not just talking about the 4th quarter. I am talking about baskets the Pistons made, when the game was close in the beginning of the game, and when the Pistons were up in the middle of the game, but it looked like the Lakers were going to make a run. And unlike the Kings and the Wolves of the World, the Pistons hit most of their free throws. The didn't get rattled by the pressure, nor intimidated by the big bad Lakers, and that's also how they won.

Defense wins championships, but so does composure/poise when the pressure is cooking. Detroit has it all.
