I was blown away when Larry Brown acknowleged the job Rick Carlisle did last year and acknowleged Cliff Robinson and other recent former Pistons for their efforts and hoping they can take some small satisfaction in seeing the team succeed.

He was sincere. one reason for all the success was his players all bought into him and pulled it together.

I thought it was a generous gesture and demonstrated some humility and recognition that he did inherit a nice team. Larry Brown gets it.

That coaching staff is almost entirely former Carolina players or coaches. Dean Smith instilled values in all of his players and coaches that they clearly have passed along to this current pistons roster.

Rick Carlisle inherited a good team in his own right too...i'm sure he would have given the same show of respect to Larry Brown if the Pacers had won the NBA title.

It was a nice gesture from Brown. And they honestly did help him win some games in the first half the the season, so it was nice to see him give credit where it was due. He's one of the great guys in the NBA.

It was great to see Larry Brown kick Jackson's pretentious, Zen ass. He outcoached Jackson in every way. His team was more motivated. It played more selflessly. It adjusted better to game situations and the referees throughout the series. The Pistons seemed to get an excellent shot after every dead ball.

Everyone says the NBA is a player's league. Perhaps so, but then this postseason was the exception that proves the rule. Larry Brown was the Piston's MVP, with Joe Dumars coming in a close 2nd. Brown noticably outcoached each of the Piston's opponents this post season. Lawrence Frank came closest to matching up, IMO.

Gotta give it up to Brown. Brooklyn guy with a wife 30 years younger than him!

I liked the gesture that he was sorry/sad that Atkins & Cliff Robinson & Bobby Sura couldn't enjoy the championship with them.

I wonder how they feel Detroit winning since they have been on the team for a few yrs and aren't there to enjoy what they have been working for.

Carlisle inherited a good team in Indy who MIGHT win it next season.

Dude, his wife is so freaking hot! He is literally, the luckiest guy alive. I just feel bad he wont be able to spend with her and their kids this Summer. That's always rough.

there was this great line in DimeMag this morning:

"We didn’t know that Larry Brown was even dating Jennifer Love Hewitt’s mom, let alone that he was married to her"

Wait, Larry Brown coached the Sixers last year.
So the respect would go to... guess who?
