Per Mark Stein

The Phoenix Suns are actively shopping big man Miles Plumlee in advance of the Feb. 19 trade deadline, according to league sources.

Dwindling playing time has led the Suns to put Miles Plumlee on the market.
Sources told ESPN.com ‎that the Suns are working in conjunction with Plumlee's agent, Mark Bartelstein, to try to find a new home for the third-year center, who has seen his playing time steadily dwindle as the season has progressed.

Plumlee is averaging a mere 13.5 minutes per game this month, compared to 23.5 minutes per game in November, and faces even more competition in the Suns' frontcourt rotation now in the wake of Phoenix's recent acquisition of Brandan Wright and the continued progression of Alex Len.

The Suns are believed to be seeking at least one future first-round pick for the 26-year-old, who was selected 26th overall by Indiana in ‎the 2012 draft, one year before brother Mason was selected No. 22 overall by Brooklyn in the 2013 draft.

I really like this kid for a number of reasons.
We know his agent, he's played with Dragic, he's a rim protector, excellent rebounder, and good finisher, decent mid-range touch, he's a product of a good system at Duke, and he'd match up well with the bigs that we're looking at in the draft.
We have to find a way to pry him away w/o giving the Suns a 1st rounder.
This is an opportunity.
Get it done, Phil!

You know, maybe if this team didn't treat draft picks like they're worthless we could use one of our trade exceptions and throw in one or two 2nd round picks and take a flyer on this guy. As it is, there's no way we should be giving up a 1st round pick and we don't have any 2nd round picks to trade until 2018.

If mozgov is worth 2 #1's than plumlee is gonna be expensive. They are not trading him for second rounders.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

IMHO, this guy is better than Mosgov.
I wish that there was a way to grab him.

I doubt they get a first but you are right about the knicks needing to value 2nd round picks more. Can the knicks even slide him in without matching salary? I thought they were still slightly over the limit.

I could really see Portland taking a run at him. Plumlee is kind of young but more importantly is that he is still on his rookie contract.

Just trying to think out loud and be creative here.
There must be some way.......

Probably not. You can't trade exception and in this scenario the knicks would receive about a $6M TPE because they are sending out the most money. There was just an article saying the Calderon still has value and maybe he does(I think he has some)but it would have to be to the right team. I am not sure Phx is that team.

Then we have to find a three-team trade that works for all parties.
Calderon plus whatever goes to somebody who sends a late 1st round pick to PHX
and we get Plumlee.

There ya go, Phil. Now you've got direction!
Here's your instructions:
Grab Plumlee now, grab Dragic as FA and draft OK4.
Then sign Matthews.
Do this first and I'll talk to you later about getting rid of Melo.

Honestly I'd rather keep the late 1st than pick up Plumlee.

in his little scenario. Plumlee is a nice player to have but he is the kind of player you can get. I would rather get Ajinca from NO. A few months older than Plumlee but with more potential plus cheaper.

He will be a UFA this summer. Hopefully he remains undervalued due to lack of playing time. He has to continue to improve defensively and stop fouling but every time he gets in he rebounds and scores.

I am now doing what I dislike. Youtube highlights.

yellow,

his shooting form looks great.

Surprised that he does not get more blocks, and why so little PT?

He is a foul machine that needs to improve his defense. He needs to get stronger. Also, he plays behind Davis and Asik plus NO picked up Whitey, who is younger. Davis was out again against the Raptors and tonight he went for 22 pts, 6 rebs, 1 blk, 1 stl, and 5 fouls.

His stoke at with his wingspan is incredible but he needs to use that length on defense. If he can just develop into a team defender while playing positional defense he would be a steal at his price. Offensively, he is definitely a system fit.

wow! I watched the Toronto NOP game today and I did not even notice him - and he played great!

I guess I just tune in to watch my specific players.

Seems like his stock is going up based on his recent performances.
