Blatt is Done!

e Cleveland Cavaliers have a lot of issues these days, but an apparent disconnect between the team's players and coaches stands near the top of the list. As the Cavaliers have sunk to a disappointing 19-20 record this season, opposing evaluators have seen the team "appearing to run different plays than the bench calls," according to ESPN.com's Brian Windhorst.

Cleveland entered the season with high expectations after adding LeBron James, Kevin Love and others during the offseason. However, injuries and issues like the one described above have sunk the team's title aspirations and led to speculation that the players and coaches aren't on the same page. Windhorst makes it sound like that's the case:

"They see players appearing to run different plays than the bench calls, see assistant coach Tyronn Lue calling timeouts literally behind Blatt's back during games and hear Cavs players openly talking about coaching issues with opposing players and personnel," Windhorst writes. "Not once, not twice, but frequently over the past several months."

There's a lot to unpack there, but the talk of Cavaliers players running different sets than assigned by the coaches is particularly noteworthy. There's been a good deal of talk about unrest in Cleveland surrounding the players and head coach David Blatt, who was hired during the offseason before the rash of moves that made the team a projected contender.

The Cavaliers have stood by their coach so far, but the idea of players continually ignoring the coach's play calls could change the equation. Calling plays should be one of Blatt's most important jobs, particularly on a team that could use some structure, and his role as a leader seems directly in question when players are ignoring his commands.

In isolation, it might not be reason to panic, but given the other issues in Cleveland these days -- from LeBron's ongoing injuries to Love's lack of production -- it's hard to imagine things working out unless everyone is on the same page. In late December, James responded, "What other coach do we have?" when asked whether he supported Blatt and last week, the coach bizarrely called out Love following a loss.

When that kind of stuff is happening, the assistant coach is undermining the head guy and the players are tuning out, it's hard to say everyone is getting along. Whatever the Cavaliers plan on accomplishing this season, they need to fix these things first.

That teams chemistry is toxic. Its amazing how much Lebron matured and became a leader the past few seasons, and then seemed to completely regress in those regards after only a few weeks back home- he's back to being the ******* he was in that last playoff series he played as a Cav.

So does Griffin and the Organization

They recently said Blatt isn't going anywhere

“Listen, this narrative of our coaching situation is truly ridiculous,” Griffin said. “It is a non-story. It is a non-narrative. Coach Blatt is our coach. He’s going to remain our coach. Do not write that as a vote of confidence. He never needed one. It was never a question. So don’t write it that way.”

Griffin said he listened to the audio tape of James’ recent comments about Blatt and identified “three different times” when the star forward talked about how the team is growing together, while also talking about being happy with his coach.

“But that wasn’t a sexy pull quote, so (the media) kept looking for something else,” Griffin said. “Until we could pull something that sounded negative. That narrative is done. No change is being made, period. What we’ve got is exactly what we talked about, guys. We came into the year, and I knew it wasn’t a sexy story: growth and development in the long haul is what this was about. Every member of our organization, from top to bottom, ownership, myself, the players, the coaches, LeBron himself, signed on for the long haul. This is something we’re doing over time. And yes, we’ve had some bumps; we’ve looked really, really bad at times. We’ve also beaten every team ahead of us in the Eastern Conference.” \

And I think this time Cleveland has a little leverage on Lebron

They need to tell him to be a MAN in Cleveland and finally grow up

So far this is what's being said

Actions have to align with words

All of their main players have bad body language

Is maybe LeBron falling apart because he isn't juicing? I had to wonder when he returned to So FL to rehab.

This. The NBA will protect him just like MLB and the players union protected their stars. It will take a third party to oust them which is what happened in baseball. A Canseco or a former trainer/supplier in it for book sales and money or

It's not even steriods. It's HGH which doesn't necessarily build muscle but helps you heal faster from injuries, improve stamina and confidence. A significant enough edge to make the playing field uneven. And then there are health risks although not as bad as straight up roids. Hips, groin etc see Arod
