OK, on January 2 me and the boys were faced with the big dilemma: pay forty bucks to see a D-League game of Westchester Knicks v Maine Red Claws or spend eighty bucks to see professional basketball team NY Knicks play Detroit at the Garden.
We chose the Westchester game and had a ball. Great game, greats seats, great eats, saw Galloway, saw Greek Freak's brother, saw triangle basketball that actually put the ball in the net. But really what was important was what I didn't see. I didn't see Pete Sampras try to play point guard instead of tennis, I didn't see Barry Larkin's kid choose the wrong sport to play, I didn't see Bargnani wearing another suit...
Folks, the Westchester Knicks ain't that good. But for forty bucks you get a great seat and get to see a team try to play something called team basketball.
