Kind of odd, would this be like taking a paycut for a yr

I have to assume most certainly he would have received Max

He's only scheduled to make $16.7mil next season

I wonder if fans look at Greg Monroe at Max even more differently if this holds true

I already posted that somewhere. "If it aint about the money". I think a lot of players will go for the big money. Aldridge might do something similar too sense he could really get big money by qualifying for 35% of the cap instead of 30% after next year.

He could have done a 2-3yr deal with an opt out after 1-2, like Lebron couldn't he have

Still would have his Bird's Rights in tact

Monroe max is Like 15.8mm. When we talking max, theres Amare Max, and other.
Love coud resign for 18.6mm max.

Those amounts are to be lifted. What is not known is will there be a sliding scale or not.
Love, like any other can say "Intentions are to resign" and that could very well be true. ALso needs to get the media off his back.

Usually the incombant Team is the favorite cuz "Its not about the money" is really, "Its about the money!!"
After that I'd say it has been even at its best a long shot he'd consider coming here. Cleveland gave up a lot for him and not being about a one year rental.
If love left, and lebron got stupid and left the cav's would be phuched royally.

they also are playing without rubio and Martin. I don't think Love is really overrated though.

Yeah, Love is the biggest change in their -30 win season but he's not the only one
For the record, I think there are much better ways to evaluate a player than looking at his team's records, but I cited the T-Wolves' downturn since the most common criticism of Love is usually that the T-Wolves sucked

Missing Rubio, Martin, AND Pekovic.

Love is a second tier star, in many ways like Anthony, to be honest.

You don't build your team around him as a primary star, and it would seem, at least so far, that he was not the perfect mate for Lebron.

Would I want him on the Knicks- possibly.

Would I want him teamed with Anthony- probably not.

Would I pay him a Max contract.... nope.

I like Love but you have to stop the "SPIN" cycle ..
Wolves starters tonight Mo Williams, G Dieng, T Young, A Wiggins and Budinger

Love set out most of the second half and jr is quickly becoming option 2B.

And it's so ironic that the comment is coming from our message board since Melo has the largest contract in the league and we're a .100 team.

3rd tier. He's in the David Lee zone. Chris Bosh is 2nd tier and he's a lot better than Love. He's a stat stuffer on bad teams.

Awesome awesome shooter. His rebounding is inflated, and his defense is nothing impressive. Has he ever shown the ability to take over games or carry a team for an extended period of time? I have never seen that. I HAVE seen that several times from Melo (Mr. 2nd tier himself) or even Bosh. Love is a good passer too and a ball mover. He's a really good player.

He's never been on as good as a team as he is now and all his #s are taking a dive. I think people thought Love/Kyrie could be another big 3. Love isnt anything even close to Bosh, who all would agree was the weakest impact wise on those Heat teams

Didnt like the trade either. Thought they should have kept Wiggins, put him at SF, moved Irving to the 2, let Lebron run the point, and traded Waiters to shore up their frontline. They got Mosgov, but without Love and his contract, they could have done a better job of upgrading their bench, and would have kept their 1st round pick.

Love is a borderline all star. Like David Lee. Im sure if Lee was on a lousy team like the Wolves he would have continued putting up his 20/12, give you 4 assists, shoot 50% and be the best player on a team that wins about 20-25 games a year.

I can see your attempts to bring Melo into this and derail the discussion... go for it. Love is clearly a tier below Melo. If Melo is 2nd tier Love is 3rd at best. You can harp on this season or even last but those who actually understand what has happened last couple year see the big picture. Melo has been a poor playoff performer. Love has never been. Melo has been around 12 years and the only losing seasons have been the last two, everyone of Love's have been losing. How many times has Love been player of the week? Player of the month?

We could do this all day. They are different players but Love is a really good player, but if your talking max star types his impact is very very low. Thus the grossly overrated.
