The Russian version of Dolan is fleeing from the disaster he has created. He got a much easier ride from the media though- they had a weird fixation for him for years. He should however make a fortune for rebranding them and moving them to Brooklyn. And then trading away all their first rounders for the next decade, after trading away all their assets for D Will. He brought out the worst in Dolan too, with their BS rivalry, and was largely responsible for scaring Dolan into the Melo trade, and it was rumoured we traded for Bargs because Dolan got irked at the Nets press following the Pierce and KG trade. In a way Prokhorov helped set back two NY teams!

The Brooklyn Nets are up for sale by Mikhail Prokhorov.

Prokhorov has hired Evercore to help with the sale of the team.

Prokhorov, 49, the first foreign owner of an NBA team, holds 80 percent of the club and 45 percent of the Barclays Center.

Valuations expert Peter Schwartz said the Nets are worth about $1.3 billion.

“The fever of a trophy asset goes beyond financial analysis -- as we saw in Los Angeles,” Schwartz said.

Ruble is falling like a stone and Dollar is very strong and only getting stronger.
He might need the cash. He might want the cash. He got bailed out by great valuations otherwise he left the team in shambles.

I'll give him credit, he made an interesting bet with that roster. It failed, but it was interesting.
He put his chips in the middle and went all in.
Reminds me of what Dolan did with Mcdyess!

the dude is extremely intelligent (there was a NYT magazine article on him a couple years back) but is clearly a moral beggar. total douchebag move. swine.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

He owns 80% of the team, not full 100%. thats about a valuatiion between 1.6-1.7bil total value.

Clippers got bid up so it could go higher. Im going to assume that price does not include his stake in the Barklay center or the real estate project (atlantic yards).

Dude is straight up James Bond villian evil. He survived very well the dismantle of Soviet entities to the private sector. Very interesting story how he came into his money.
