To get to the next level we need to trade for upcoming stars rather than already existent stars.

I would trade KT and Frank Williams to Chicago for the #3 pick and JYD or E Robinson. They get rid of a bad contract and get two guys that fill Paxon's tough mold.

With #3, we have to nab Igudola. He is a freak ala Richard Jefferson. He is pure muscle, very athletic, and has a huge vertical leap and wingspan. He is a monster defensively and would be able to get in the open court with Marbury. That would be a lethal backcourt and they would complement each other perfectly.

Sign a big man with the MLE. Even if it's Etan Thomas or Chris Anderson. We need to get back to guys who play tough, block shots, and take pride in rebounding.

Sweetney needs to start next season. Cut Shandon, we need the roster spot for youngsters. Use the expiring contracts at the deadline to get frontcourt help.

Marbury, Norris
Houston, Igudola
Thomas, Penny
Sweetney, JYD
Dampier?, Nazr

They're not gonna just cut Shandon. it would cost a little over 20 million to cut him. instead, why not trade him to Atlanta (Shandon's home town) for Alan Henderson and the 3rd of Atlanta's second round picks. Henderson we can cut or redirect in some sort of trade since he's in the last year of his contract. Since Atlanta is completely rebuilding (they have a roster of 3 players), a vet like Anderson who led the league in games played without missing one until lenny benched him (in atlanta of all places) is worth the last of your multiple second round picks.

It costs the same amount to keep him on this team. He is not good and is taking up a roster spot. We should use that spot for some youngster with potential. There is no use for Shandon on this team. If he plays, he hurts the team. Dermarr would be better than Shandon. If he doesn't play or goes on the Injured list he will complain and hurt the team chemestry.

And if you think Atlanta would ever do that deal you are nuts. Henderson is in the last year of the contract and they are both bad NBA players. Why would they take on that money and give us a draft pick? Besides Layden, GM's are smarter than that in this league and don't take on monstrous deals for mediocre players.

If we can't buy him out, we should cut him. It costs the same amount and he won't hurt the team any longer.

why not do a sign and trade for jamal crawford instead? trade kurt, frank and othella for jamal and jyd. a 3 guard rotation of marbury, h20, and jamal would be SICK. and with h20 getting 20-25 mins a night, a jamal/marbury backcourt would do GREAT. forget the #3 pick - it's a total crapshoot. trade to get into the mid first round, the #3 is unattainable considering the players we have to offer.

Jamal is not a good defensive player. He has yet to even be consistent in the NBA. He would be a nice addition to our backcourt but Andre Iguodola would be a better fit for this team. He would give us that lockdown presence on the perimeter that Artest, Prince, and Richard Jefferson give their respective clubs.

He is an athletic freak, has an incredible work ethic, has good court vision, and is already a great defender. He will get to the rim and finish with his hops which will allow him to put up points even if he doesn't develop a jumper (Richard Jefferson).

I would say Jamal Crawford is a bigger risk than Iguodola at this point.
