Sad story. Only 49 years old. I remember seeing on television for the first time in years last summer in the NBA finals, was hopeful that meant his condition had bettered. R.I.P.

I miss him already. Not to deter from his moment but I hope Craig Sager is okay.

Stuart Scott I was recently thinking about you

This is a very tough one, he liked changed the game

In how everyone communicates in general, especially sports

He definitely influenced me, he will be forever missed

I'm happy he's no longer suffering and like Lazarus he will rise again

+1

He made me a sports center fanatic. I remember watching sports center for the first time, and i was so impress at how he smoothly took street terms and incorporated into the highlights without sounding street.

He will be miss..

Stuart was a pioneer...He took hip hop/pop culture to the airwaves and made it commonplace...Not without resistance, either..I remember old dudes on WFAN just ripping him/mocking him for the terminology he used..Now it's part of our culture...His show along with Rich Eisen was best ESPN had to offer at the time...He did more than just report sport stories..He helped changed most, if not all of us..

I agree. He changed how everyone reported anything basically.

Followed this for a long time. Seemed like a good dude who really got a raw hand--hes been fighting cancer for nearly 10 years now. The whole time he tried to keep his life positive and I guess thats what life is all about.

Well said. A true pioneer. I am deeply saddened by this news.

Terrible news. When my wife told me this morning it was like getting kicked in the gut. Unfortunately we've all be through this with a family member, a friend or someone else we know. It hurts even when it's someone we didn't know personally. Felt so happy for this guy when I heard he was doing better then my heart sank when the cancer returned. Gonna really miss him...RIP.

Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

I have been so out of the loop that I didn't realize he was sick in the first place. This is very heartbreaking. RIP.

Big C takes another. So very sad. I know first hand what a demoralizing illness (and treatment) it is and its all about being positive. This guy was a role model in life. How to carry yourself 101. RIP... my heart goes to his family.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Rest in Peace Stuart Scott. Scott was about the same age as me but he really spoke for a younger generation who were raised from an early age on hip hop. Didn't just bring style but substance as well, or Stuart wouldnt have lasted in the business as long as he did.

Really nice guy who cared about the people he worked with, took time to talk to fans, great father, he will be missed.
