http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/12016979/los-angeles-lakers-star-kobe-bryant-critical-teammates-heated-scrimmage

"When practice was opened to the media, Bryant and Nick Young were already trading barbs during the scrimmage with Young telling Bryant, "Nobody in the world can guard me one-on-one," and Bryant telling Young, "You're going exactly where I want you to go."

Later Bryant said, "You m-----f------ are soft like Charmin in this m-----f-----. God damn, is this the type of s--- that's going on in these practices? Now I see why we've lost 20 f---ing games. We're soft like Charmin. We're soft like s---........"

------

"Bryant was also getting on Jeremy Lin during the scrimmage, daring him to shoot whenever he had the ball, yelling, "This m-----f----- don't got s---. He ain't got s--- right now. Shoot! Shoot!" After Lin missed a pull-up jumper, Bryant said, "I talked his ass right into that bulls---. I talked his ass right into that bulls---..........."

------

"I haven't seen Kobe practice like that in a while," Young said. "I've been waiting to get back out there since he hurt my thumb and talk some trash. It's been almost nine weeks since we got the chance to (talk trash) a little bit. It brings out the best in practice when you're going at it like that."

Young pulled Lin and Jordan Clarkson aside after practice and talked to them about standing up for themselves when Bryant comes at them during practice and to not allow him to walk all over them......"

I saw nothing "intense" out there. All that happened was one guy yelling obscenities. I'm not impressed.

It's not ending well for Kobe. Hopefully he doesn't think his behavior at practices inspired the laker win last night. In regards to Lin and the basketball gods, I think he has been tremendously fortunate. Lin was a hot name on this board because of his summer league performance against John Wall. But I don't think anyone could have predicted Linsanity. Now Lin is the 23rd highest paid player in the league and I believe is top 5 in salary for his position. Nash going down gave him the starting job in LA. While he currently is backing up Ronnie Price, I think that changes soon unless Scott likes him with the second unit. I am not sure that Lin starts on many teams in the west but he definitely is the best point guard on the lakers.

That was one of the best games I have watched this year. Once tge spurs got it to o t I didn't think the lakers had a chance. Young made a huge shot.

I remember reading an article about the success of Aaron Rodgers in the NFL, how he was thought of as potential first overall pick and then watched his stock freefall into the first round, bottoming out, sitting alone because he fell into the late first round, and then how Brett Favre would basically terrorize him for years ( he spent three years as the backup first) and Rodgers could do nothing about it. Steve Young IIRC came out and said that even sitting behind Montana, that he thought what Rodgers went through was even worse than he went through.

I still, to this day, have no idea why so many NBA fans and even Knick fans have such an ax to grind against Jeremy Lin.

The kid was undrafted, basically had to scrap and fight to stay on an NBA roster, when given just little bit of daylight, he lead his team to wins, then got immediately railroaded by Carmelo Anthony, using CAA and Stephen A Smith and leaking stuff to the press to attack him. ( Nothing was more surreal than seeing SAS on ESPN First Take with his tirade of why can't Jeremy Lin give the Knicks just fifteen minutes and come back from injury)

Then he signs the only offer sheet in front of him, the only sheet he can sign, then gets treated like trash by Dolan and the Knicks on the way out, like he was some leper and criminal, again have Melo's media pull hammering him. Only to end up having to play with two of the biggest douchebags in the league in Harden and Howard, who would routinely scream at him because he couldn't stop attacking guards who Harden let by him and when Howard wasn't in the right position. Only on his way out the door, having Melo in giant pictures wearing his number all around his home arena before he got traded.

Then he gets traded to play alongside one of the greatest point guards in NBA history, who clearly respects Lin, only to have Nash break down, and has to pair in the backcourt with an even worse version of Melo, in Kobe Bryant, full of narcissism and maybe the most anti team ball player in the league. An out of control shotjacking rapist sanctioned by his franchise who has giant MJ23 penis envy.

I mean will the basketball gods give Lin a break?

TT most people like Lin. What rubs ppl the wrong way are the lunatic fans that trash everyone around Lin in order to propel him into something he isn't.

Linsanity happens because there was no scouting report or information on Lin for opponents. Also MDAs system gave him the platform to excel. After teams started getting that info on him he struggled. Pretty much an early sophmore wall.

Say what you will about his attitude, but at least he takes practice seriously and improves his game. It's unfortunate that many players don't have the same attitude. Probably why you see such poor fundamentals. God forbid anybody say anything negative to our coddled athletes these days, wouldn't want them to think they could better themselves. They're already perfect.

There's a difference between motivating and berating. Kobe was doing the latter. That's not an effective way to lead; I can speak of that first-hand when I was younger and mistook what a leader is suppose to be.
