The guy has been great and getting even better. Whatever anyone wants to say--whatever happened last year--I cant say why we didnt get along or whatever--but if we used the 3mm lower level exepctiosn to help the G positions--the Knicks would be 12-5 right now with that type of play.

HE probably would have done this for us, I really don't know what to say about him.

He isn't a City Guy but he does have a good game.
Really, what can you say? He had one good year for NYK at least, but yes, it is amazing how much better he is playing than last year.

...the 12-5 part...I don't know about that!

I'm just a little sour right now but I dunno....

"with that type of play" is the key. Tyson didnt want to be here and he played that way. He's clearly invigorated in Dal.

I think the Knicks acted fairly based on what they saw last year. Maybe with a contract year we get that kind of effort, maybe we dont. Who knows. He dogged his way off the team and now he's playing like it had nothing to do him. Kinda makes me hate Tyson if anything

Monta Ellis is a better bargain than Melo

Dirk is the kind of Superstar you can retool and rebuild around

Many players come here and their value goes down and subsequently back when they are traded. We have a cranky dumb owner and the guys making the calls behind him were not good enough. One thing I dont get--we spend so much money--why not spend the 12mm per year on a Sam Presti? Phil Jackson is 68 and does the job part time.

Sam wins in SAS, gets paid nice, had a great owner and a coach.
Why work for a phuch face like Dolan?

Phil is part time?

its just high turnover. Equal number of guys come here and just wilt. Im defending MSG by any stretch, we have never had more than an 18 month plan in place here.

he sucks on a bad team just like many players. He would suck even worse in the triangle.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Also I dont think you can be in the business of trading players who might be a little upset playing in NY. The guy was making 11mm and he took the contract to come here. he played very well in season 1. Whatever happened--where Tyson lost value--thats up in the air. But the decision makers took MUCH less and took on salary to get rid of him. When you start saying who is the best C right now in the NBA Tyson is in the top 5.

by the time we get enough players who want to run the triangle--Phil Jackson will be long gone.

I dont regret the trade. Lets face it Tyson should have never left dallas. he is comfortable there and he plays his best there. Im not a big fan of Calderon but he can be a serviceable guard who can shoot well, i like larkin, and we got a couple draft picks out of it that might end up as good role players on the defensive side

You mean Rick Buford. Sam Presti is with OKC. I agree they must love their jobs and would not come here

We all know he would not be playing with any effort in NY. He had the nickname Flu Tyson for a reason. He was never the same after his 1st season here.

it does seem he manages to avoid the Flu better in Dallas than NY

Dallas was always the best place for him. He was a big part of them winning of title and since going back he has been very good for them again. I think a lot of it is being comfortable and he clearly wasnt here. I agree he should have put forth more effort here but it is what it is

You mean, you wish winning wasn't a priority this year. Clearly it is if they're making Melo come back from a back injury after 2 games.
