Possibility Richard Howell returns to the NBA D-League following his departure in Italy. If he does, Westchester Knicks have his rights.

Richard Howell (203 cm, North Carolina State’13) will not start the season with BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque (France, ProA) after all has he has parted company with the team. The forward is embarking on his first season in professional Basketball and joined Dunkerque a few weeks ago; however the American has now left the French club. Earlier in the summer Richard Howell was in action during the NBA Pro Summer League in Las Vegas where he represented NBA franchise the Denver Nuggets.

During his last college season with North Carolina the 22-year old played 35 games he was on fine form and picked up a season double-double with averages of 12.7 points, 10.9 rebounds per game.

Heading into the draft, draftnet had Howell ranked as the second best rebounder in his draft class. Hope he ends up in Westchester.

I like him. Isn't the tallest PF around but he's extremely tough, a very good rebounder and he can score inside (adept back to the basket and face up game out to at least 15'). Really reminds me a lot of DeJuan Blair. Only thing -- he looked noticeably heavier in all his Philippines clips on youtube than the player I remember at NC State. Haven't seen any video of him playing in Italy. I hope his weight hasn't become an issue. If not, it's safe to expect a player at least as good as Blair imo.
