Everywhere you look or listen all you get is "the talent just isn't there."

Does anyone honestly think our heroes are less talented than Orlando or Utah? Those two teams beat us with a rookie disappointment named Trey Burke, a grossly overpaid/overhyped Gordon Hayward, a nobody with a really bad hairstyle named Fournier, and a kid named Tobias who learned how to play basketball on those rough and tough playgrounds of Long Island! That's who we are losing to and that's who people are saying we aren't as talented as.

Do you honestly think the Knicks' problem is that we lack talent? Isn't having the league's top three scorer, the sixth man of the year winner, a fantastic international point guard (two of them!), two kids whose sports DNA insures great things from them, Shump, Acy, Jason Smith (who knew he would be this good?), solid play from aging Amar'e...

This is not a team that lacks talent!

Those teams have younger, hungry and more active (energy) players. The Knicks don't play with energy, they run the plays, wear down the shot clock and take jumpers all night. They only go to the basket a few times a game, our opponents attack the basket much more resulting in made shots and more free throws. The Knicks have talent but they don't have speed. The talent that they do have is just not used properly.

You must be a Yankee fan. If they don't have an All Star at every position, they feel the team lacks talent.

What exactly do you want? That we should put together a team as talented as Utah and Orlando? Do you honestly think Utah and Orlando are teams with more talent than us?

Talent is certainly the issue. The Knicks roster is loaded with one on one players, guys who can't play system basketball, and guys who have no clue of what playing defense is all about. The lineup of Larkin,Priggioni, Wear, Acy, and Carmelo, gave us all a glimpse of what a defensively minded squad can really do if used properly. Larkins did a hell of a job fighting over the screens, moved the ball with gusto, disrupt the passing lanes. Wear and Priggioni did the same thing. If we had shot makers other than Carmelo, we would have blown the opposing team out of the gym. The energy was right and the oficionados were Into the game. However, as soon as we substituted the SMITH brothers into the game, the momentum shifted in favor of Utah due to turn overs, and back door passes against our team. Talent is definitely the issue. We need more (2way) players.
Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

Dude. Seriously. You're totally wrong about me. I don't expect all stars at every position. You on the other hand are failing to properly integrate reality. This teams STARTING LINEUP, besides Melo, wouldn't start on almost any other NBA team. JR Smith, is a complete head case and a lost cause. Larkin and Hardaway's DNA?! Say what?

So You really think Prigs is a international superstar? Or whatever you called him? Where's the defense on this roster?

This team lacks talent in a serious way. But it's the lack of effort physically and mentally that's causing us to lose to bottom feeders such as Orlando and Utah. We are very poor at PG with Jose out and our big men are a joke. This team isn't talented enough to play as stupid as they do on a nightly basis.

Correction: Bottom feeders perhaps, but far more talented rosters than ours. Saying we should not lose to younger, more talented teams that are already ahead of us in the long-term talent race is kind of unreasonable. I don't know about Utah, but Orlando may be able to play for something in the next year or two.

We can't be said to be better than a single club right now, so any victory has to be won by outworking the other team. Do you have confidence our nightly effort will be enough to generate wins?

Even when we've seen effort, almost every game has big lulls where the team nods off and the other team starts beating up on us. It's the NBA, so no games are guaranteed wins or losses. The way they'll win is staying focused for a whole game. Despite Melo's efforts, the team nodded off for a stretch again the last game.

RonRon made a great point yesterday about how the team used to not report the extent of injuries. He used the example of Lin and others as being reported as day to day when their season was over. Hopefully it is nothing like that. Also, I hope the new regime is more transparent in regards to injuries etc.

This is not a team that lacks talent!

And your point is?????

That you lack talent to determine what is interesting to discuss or a flat out rant.

Haywood can play and all around game Saw this dude in SLC last year play and he took apart the Suns himself. This dude is a very complete player. He looked as good as paul george. He got Paul George money too! Face of the franchise in HonkeyTown USA. Don't hold that against him.

FIREWOODSON, you get reactions but really whats the point? The games speak louder than anything you can say. Since you lack objectivity you really don't add anything.

I might not either, but nobody complaining.

He went mano-a-mano with melo in the 4th. He played showtime ball.

Let's extend the "Damn we suck, let's tank guys!" theme and speculate. Now that the team is looking like it does, are they keeping out Jose even longer than necessary just to ensure they tank? Think about it. The rest of November was pretty soft and December is a grinder. Bring him back in December and you've kind of ensured your lottery status. Makes sense to me.
