Why don't we have anyone on the bench coaching our young guys? The years we were good, we always had one or two veterans vocal enough to do the dirty job. When a guy like THJ who is having a bad night, there should be a veteran on the bench to guide him. When our superstar is having a bad night, there should be a veteran on the bench to show him support as well as criticize his game. Who the hell are our VETERAN leaders? Please help me.
Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

Look at it as if it were a Military unit; you have to have at least four leaders for it to be a complete unit. Commander, lieutenant, Sergeant Major, and Sergeants. You have those four components in place, you will have a strong unit.

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

You guys are talking like this is a team without guidance and that's not the case. This is a good coaching staff and Phil also knows what he's doing. It's looking worse than it should have if we had Jose for the start of the season. It's made it harder to weather the expected early struggles. We knew it would take time but minus Jose that made it even harder.

It is going to take time. However, as good as Phil and Fisher are, they can't resolve the problem of this team until they recognise the lack of leadership on this roster. Also, you can't force engineers to do the job of a doctor; same goes true to the one on one/defensively challenged players we have on this roster. We have too many of them and that has to be fixed.

I think the leader is Calderon.
Raptors head coach Dwane Casey has made no secret of his fondness for Calderon: “He’s one of those guys you remember (when you are done coaching),” Casey said.

He’s one of the most beautiful leaders I’ve ever been around. Jose is great, he’s a beautiful man. Very knowledgeable, I always tease him, does he want to get into coaching, and hopefully he’s smart and doesn’t do that, stay with his pig business over in Spain and raise his family.”

He does have leadership traits, I have seen him coaching Carmelo at times. I can't wait for him to play.

Here is a quote from Ron Artest...it clearly identifies what I have noticed about our lack of leadership.

“You don’t hold nothing back when things are going wrong,’’ World Peace said. “You have to tell Melo [Carmelo Anthony] when he’s being lazy. You have to speak about these things, so when the playoffs come, everyone knows where everybody stands.’’
