for Matt Barnes the contract of Carlos Delfino and 2 2's

The Clippers get the best player in the deal and we get 2 's 2 and cap space next year.

Matt Barnes is a more impactful player than JR, IMHO even though JR is clearly more talented. On top of that, Carlos Delfino was waived (I think). Not sure you could trade the balance of his contract, either, which would be a dumb stipulation of the CBA.

I don't think so. JR Smith was a main cog on a 54 win team--a 6th man of the year. Matt Barnes is a nice role player. I think JR at 6-6 225 is big enough to play SF. Im just looking for a team that I can match salary that may want to use JR. Doc is a coach who can get the best out of JR. His best is a good player.

I definitely think that Doc would take a waiver on JR. Unfortunately for them, they don't have empty contracts with Jared Dudley having been traded. I don't seem them giving up Barnes because he's one of their few defensive stoppers on a team where everyone can score in bunches.

Yup on Delfino. The only other contract to make this work would be Farmar but you would need to wait for Dec 15th. I don't know why the Clippers would go for this since they already have Jamal Crawford.

Matt Barnes was a main Cog on a Clipper team

That won 56gms in a tougher conference out West same season

How long are we going to keep referencing

The one single 54win team as a means to push what we want to happen this year

Also Barnes doesn't come with the kind of skitzo package as J.R.

You're not going to dump salary on them while taking away additional assets

Matt Barnes looks awful this season- they need a SF. Also, Clips have Jamal Crawford and Redick- why would they want JR?

I think they already have their 6th man type who overshoots a bit. Even if Jamal has been steady recently...
